〖序〗去年元旦,我在零下45度的坝上草原,极度寒冷干燥的天气,还没回上海,我的手上就开始发湿疹。最初并不在意,却没想到,湿疹越发越多,最后竟伴随了我一年,并发展到全身性皮肤过敏。每次似乎过敏稍好一点,一旦出去旅行或出差,便又再次复发。而去年是我特别忙碌的一年,出差频繁,旅行也很频繁。湿疹却因反复发作,久治不愈,已成顽疾,让我去年整整一年,痒并快乐着。今年元旦,从柬埔寨回来后,十个手指头再次长满密密麻麻的湿疹,让我痛下决心,暂时不出去玩了,哪儿也不去了,就在上海呆着,修身养性。 修身养性,说起来容易做起来难。尤其是身处户外圈,身边的朋友都是不安分的旅行狂热者,春节开始,朋友圈里便陆续晒各类旅行照,接着是各类旅行计划。我又心痒了。 “当【旅行】被按下暂停键,还好有照片可以感怀与想念。只是为何,两个月前的柬埔寨之行,已如两年般久远?”当我在微信上敲出这段文字时,只觉内心悲凉。 人生有当下,还有远方。旅行,早已成为我的信念,是照进琐碎生活的一丝光亮。每隔一段时间,放下工作,放下压力,放下朝九晚五,去遥远的地方放逐一下,再回来时,便已是神清气爽,连平凡生活也换成了美好模样,不觉房价很高,客户很烦,压力很大。 但现在,我必须得做出妥协,与我的身体。 “你一定是以前户外水线走得太多,湿气过重”,“户外睡帐篷时,即使有防潮垫,湿气依然很重”。。。身边朋友帮我找着各种看似合理的解释。但不管原因为何,现在我要做的是暂停旅行,暂停行走。 人生都有阶段性的,不是吗?也许这是我的身体在向我发出的警告。我只是暂时停下来,休息一下而已。远方,永远在前方。我如此安慰自己。 当旅行暂停时,还好我有照片可以怀念,还有文字可以书写。 所以,现在,让我用文字来开始一段旅行吧。。。 D1(12-29) 上海浦东——柬埔寨暹粒暹粒,第一次看见“暹”这个字,我甚至不知该如何发音。问十个人,也许九个人不知“暹”字该如何读,而八个人不知“暹粒”又是何地?你不知暹粒,但你一定知道吴哥。如果你要去吴哥,那你一定得先飞暹粒,吴哥的门户。2012年元旦前夕,小美丽说,"我们去吴哥吧,元旦去吴哥,天气最凉爽。" 每年的11月至次年2月,是吴哥的旱季,也是最凉爽的季节,自然也是旅游旺季。3月开始气温上升,而5月-10月,便进入闷热潮湿的雨季,最高温度可达40多度。无奈时间太仓促,即使计划买大韩航空的机票从韩国绕过去,机票也很贵。那一年元旦,我们放弃了吴哥,我却开始对吴哥心心念念。2013年春秋开通了上海直飞暹粒的航线,我就盘算着,一定要去吴哥。待过了吴哥漫长的雨季,我依旧把去吴哥的时间定在了元旦。还在浦东机场候机,心里已是春暖花开。和蟋蟀头自拍一张,分享到微信朋友圈:“又一次出发,到温暖的地方过新年去!”Tips:办理去柬埔寨的证非常方便,在网上申请电子证,25美元/人,3个工作日即可收到证的PDF电子版本,打印出来,贴在护照上即可。申请电子证网址:https//evisa.mfaic.gov.kh/Default.aspx 直飞的好处便是,4个多小时后,我们已抵达柬埔寨国际机场。柬埔寨的海关人员会索要小费,已是公开秘密。”把1美元准备好,夹在护照里“,很多人的攻略会如是告诉你。但我不准备给他们小费。我们都有合法的入境证,凭什么还要给海关人员小费?排队等候入关。我前面一正在办理入关手续的中国男人,忽然转过身对他的同伴喊道:“他们要我交10元钱,你们有吗?””你就和他说no money!“未等他的同伴给他钱,我的话已喊出了口。那海关人员向我看了看,又低下了头。我想了想,为避免他可能的刁难,我干脆换了个通道排队。轮到我时,我递上护照。海关员接过护照,眼睛也没抬,只喃喃地用中文说了句:"10元人民币。”“NO,” 这次,我的回答更简单。他啥也没说,只低着头把我的护照翻来覆去看。你就慢慢看吧,反正我不会给你钱的。我心里暗暗想着。磨蹭许久后,他叫我把右手放到一个指纹记录仪上,停留许久,再换左手,又停留许久。“NO~~NO” 他嘴里一边咕哝着,一边继续磨蹭着。我安静地等在柜台前,我就不信,不给他小费,他就不让我通行?最后,他终于在我护照上盖好章,把护照递还给我。我心里偷笑,接过护照,赶紧离开。下一个是蟋蟀头了,海关人员也对他说了同样的话,“10元人民币,” 他也用“NO”直接回绝了海关人员。我估计这位海关人员心里已是极度不爽,失去耐心,只让蟋蟀头放了一只手记录指纹,就让他通过了。据说,柬埔寨海关人员的索贿都是中国人培养出来的。如果真是如此,那就让我们每个中国人从NO开始,断绝掉他们这种劣根性。 走出机场时,旅馆派来接我们的车夫已拿着写有我名字的纸牌候在外面。住三晚以上,旅馆便提供免费的接机服务。我们将在暹粒住七晚,便理所当然享受了旅馆的这项免费服务。车夫叫Bunny,我们在暹粒相处了整整六天,我却是在最后一天才知他的名字。当时,Bunny对我们来说,只是一个临时来接机的车夫而已,我们并没想到在暹粒的六天,都将与他在一起,甚至还去了他家里。坐上他的TUTU车时,“take photo?” Bunny问我。他这么喜欢拍照吗?我一边觉得奇怪,一边把镜头对准他。“No,我是问是否需要我帮你俩拍张照?” Bunny摇着手,知道我误解了他的意思。真逗,这漆黑的夜里,帮我俩拍照?但我还是把相机递给他,于是,借着路灯的余光,有了我俩这张初来乍到的照片。 预订的旅馆Avie Moriya Villa(阿维莫莉亚别墅),还真是一幢两层楼的别墅,只有几个房间。老板是个意大利人,据说很nice很幽默。房价不贵,住7晚仅226美元,相当于人民币1377元。出发前一个月我才订房,可能正值旅游旺季的缘故,很多酒店房间都早已预订一空,包括朋友推荐的Motherhome Inn。找到Avie Moriya Villa属巧合,位置好,离老市场近,而且它的网上评分还很高。只是,不到200元一晚的房间,多少让我有点担心。这种担心,直到热情的服务生把我们领进房间,才终于解除。房间虽简单,却很干净,而且还有免费的wifi。蟋蟀头说肚子饿了,要外出觅食。于是,行李放下,我们便再次出门,坐上Bunny的tutu车,让他送我们去酒吧街。当然,Bunny并非免费送我们,他要求收费2美元。在柬埔寨,主要使用的货币是美元,从购物到吃饭的所有消费。而当地货币瑞尔Riel,一般只用来找零。美元与瑞尔有个固定汇率0.1USD=400Riel,通常只有用到1美元以下时,瑞尔才派上用场 。既然一切都用美元支付,所以,柬浦寨的消费并不便宜。2美元,差不多13元人民币,上海出租车的起步价,可以坐3公里。而我们坐Bunny的tutu车,仅几分钟而已,便已到了酒吧街。如此一来,是不是比上海都贵?但当时我没有2美元的零钱,掏出一张100美元,Bunny说,明天付吧。明天,已和他约好,下午送我们去买吴哥的门票。他就不怕我们明天爽约,不坐他的tutu车?我心里暗想。但可能正因为他这种相信,我们也都很诚信。信任与否,从来都是相互的。 酒吧街并非如想像中那般人头攒动、人声鼎沸,毕竟已是午夜时分,喝了酒的人,也大多回房休息了。但五彩的霓虹,震耳的音乐,还是和之前寂静的夜色形成鲜明的反差。“要不要去喝一杯?” 蟋蟀头问我。“不要。”我知道他故意这样问,他其实从来不爱喝酒。我们是来找吃的。但这些光鲜亮丽的酒吧,提供的除了酒水还是酒水。 酒吧街并不长,50米左右,穿行而过后,灯光便黯淡下来,稀稀拉拉摆着一些路边摊。从旅馆出来时,已向服务生打听过,夜里是否安全?即使得到服务生肯定的答复,蟋蟀头仍然一百个不放心,即使要吃路边摊,也一定要找个灯光明亮点的地方。我们还真找到一处明亮的角落。小食摊的玻璃橱窗上竟写着四个斗大的中文:牛肉河粉。“finish,finish!”橱窗后的一个男人对我说道。我站在小食摊前,探头往里张望着,可能看得太过专心,竟对他说的“finish” 充耳不闻。和蟋蟀头商量下,我便对老板说道,“要两份牛肉河粉。”“finish !” 老板大声地再次重申。哦,原来已经卖完,结束营业了。但之前我居然把“finish”听成“fish”,以为他在向我推销鱼了!真是三滴汗啊。 他家已结束营业,但紧挨着他家的另一个食摊,小妹仍在忙碌中。依然点了两份炒河粉,蟋蟀头的牛肉河粉和我的蔬菜河粉。每份2美元。在东南亚旅行的好处便是,与国内的食物差异不大,不会让人在饮食上感觉难以适应。用筷子吃河粉的时候,有点时光错乱的感觉。我们真的已经在柬埔寨呢? 见我在拍照,一老外突然跳过来,张大手臂,做个怪脸,挡在我镜头前面。然后,我俩都哈哈大笑。嗯,我想,我们的确已在柬埔寨了。饭后去逛了小食摊旁边的超市,这里日用品一应俱全,成了我俩后来屡次光顾的地方。除了很多商品是made in China,几个中文字也是赫然醒目。 准备返回旅馆时,近凌晨2点,街头依然许多夜不归宿的游客。他们,是这个城市GDP的来源,也使这个城市无论白天还是黑夜,都充满生机。更漆黑的角落,一排排tutu车沿街摆开。比游客还多的tutu车,生意看来并不好做。如此竞争激烈,所以我们只用了一美元,便坐tutu车返回了旅馆。 D2(12-30)巴肯山日落吴哥窟的门票分为三种:一日票$20,三日票$40,七日票$60。下午17点钟买票后便可马上进去,免费获得一个傍晚,去巴肯山或者吴哥看日落。所以,这一天,我们除了下午430出发去买吴哥门票,然后去巴肯山看日落外,并没有特别安排。于是,便安安心心地睡到自然醒。一觉醒来时,已是中午。从二楼的阳台上往外望去,除了电线太过扎眼外,街上空无一人,安静得有点过分。但这就是暹粒,白天游客们都散落到吴哥的丛林中,只有傍晚以后才陆续归城。所以,白天的暹粒永远都是寂寞的。 昨晚抵达时,夜色漆黑,完全不知我们住的这幢楼啥模样。现在下楼后,才算把这幢Avie Moriya Villa(阿维莫莉亚别墅)看清楚。外墙涂成淡黄色的小楼,看上去倒是分为雅致。二楼阳台上挂着柬埔寨国旗和红白绿的意大利国旗,看来老板的确是个意大利人。只是,旅馆里依然不见他的踪影。我对他有点好奇,为何要到这里来开一家廉价旅馆?这点房费,怎么算起来都不算什么高收入。蟋蟀头说,你以为老外都很有钱吗?说不定他在意大利也就一穷人。 出门时,已是下午两点半,准备走路去老市场吃午饭。看了酒店名片后面的地图,老市场与酒吧街相距很近。蟋蟀头说,你跟我走就行。“你确信你可以找到?”我有点怀疑。虽然昨晚坐tutu车去酒吧街吃过饭,但我依然毫无方向感。“我确信。”蟋蟀头的语气里,倒全是自信。于是,我俩就这样出门溜达了。 “我们现在走的路,比昨晚绕了一下。我只是想看看,这边又是什么样?”蟋蟀头说道,就好像他曾经来过似的。我依旧半信半疑,甚至中途还去问了两个路人,但证明我俩的确一直走在正确的方向。“你知道这是哪吗?”将近20分钟后,蟋蟀头指着一条街的入口。“不知道。”我摇了摇头。“这就是酒吧街啊!”“酒吧街?但为什么和昨晚的酒吧街没有一点相似之处呢?”我不相信。但很快,我发现路牌上写着Pub street。“因为这是酒吧街的另一头。”蟋蟀头非常淡定地说道。现在,我对他的方向感,佩服得五体投地。只是,酒吧街的白天与黑夜,反差实在很大。但为何街头有这么多警察呢?有什么事情发生吗?和警察叔叔确认了下,与酒吧街平行的另一条街道便是老市场。攻略说,老市场集中了很多餐厅。但当我站在这里时,眼前所见与想像中完全不一样。左边一排简陋的小吃摊,散发出来的浓烈腥味,让我只想赶快逃离。后来去这后面逛了一下,原来小吃摊的后面是个菜市场,难怪气味难闻。路右边的餐厅,看上去就精致许多。我很少按别人的推荐去寻找美食,因为在吃这件事上,我从来认为是仁者见仁,智者见智。毕竟每个人的口味不一样,要求也不一样。美食,凭自己的感觉去寻觅就好。就比如这家放满绿植的餐厅,蓝色的桌椅、异域风情的桌布,明亮绮丽的颜色搭配,一入眼,我就挪不动脚了。 餐厅不仅装修考究,连服务员也很漂亮。点餐后,等候上菜时,蟋蟀头让小姑娘坐在桌子一边,给她拍照。我俩是餐厅唯一的客人,所以小姑娘很大方地应允了。她的眼睛大大的,笑的时候特别美。 饭前饮料,一定是每人一个新鲜椰汁。在泰国时,我们是如此习惯;到了柬埔寨,依然如此。同是椰汁,但柬埔寨和泰国的又有所不同。柬埔寨的椰子虽块头大,但椰汁却不如泰国的甘甜,味道偏淡。而且柬埔寨的椰汁比泰国的贵许多,柬埔寨一般$2(相当于人民币12元),而泰国仅10泰铢(相当于人民币2元)。如此一比较,感觉柬埔寨的消费比泰国贵了许多。 我们这顿饭是传统的柬埔寨美食。我的Amok fish 和蟋蟀头的Beef Lok Lak。Amok是当地的一种植物,用它的叶子裹着鱼肉或鸡肉或牛肉,再加上椰奶、咖喱粉、姜黄粉、柠檬香草等调料,在火上蒸熟。选择不同的主食料,便是不同的Amok,所以有了Amok fish、Amok beef、Amok chicken。也许暹粒边上就是洞里萨湖的缘故,所以鱼肉的Amok最为有名。而Beef Lok Lak则是用炒好的牛肉配上柬埔寨特有的烤肉酱。点餐时,我对蟋蟀头说,“我想吃鱼,可是。。。”我喜欢吃鱼,可是因为湿疹的缘故,已经戒鱼很久了。“那就点吧。吃了再说。”蟋蟀头二话不说,帮我做了决定。他就是这样,永远知道我在想什么,不管我是话只说了一半,还是什么也没说。他只是看情况,帮我把想说的话说出来而已。 我对这家餐厅的桌布和桌巾一见倾心,这就是传说中的纱笼布吗?我立即把它列入我的购物清单,只是,直到离开柬埔寨,也再没看见这么漂亮的桌布。 吃完饭,已近下午4点,得赶紧往回走了,因为和Bunny有约,1630来旅馆接我俩。回去时,蟋蟀头说带我走近路,即昨晚我们坐tutu车的路线,居然只用了十分钟左右,我们便走回了旅馆。一路上,见到许多候客的tutu车停靠在路边,也有许多tutu车司机主动过来招呼我们。尽管是旅游旺季,似乎tutu车的生意也难做啊。所以,当我们回到旅馆,看见Bunny已笑脸盈盈地等候在大门口时,便一点也不奇怪了。后来要离开暹粒时,我问蟋蟀头,为何我们从来没向其他tutu车司机打听过价格呢?不货比三家,就选择了Bunny,这似乎没有道理。“这要问你自己了。”蟋蟀头回答我。 1630,准时出发。当时 ,只与Bunny谈好这个傍晚的车费$5:送我们去买门票,然后送我们去巴肯山看日落,最后把我们送回旅馆。 旅馆到售票处并不远,tutu车过去十多分钟就到了。实际上,暹粒本就是个小城,城区到呈哥窟十多分钟,到机场也是十多分钟而已。幅员广阔的是茫茫丛林,以及丛林中的寺庙。吴哥的门票很有纪念意义,因为会现场为每个人拍一张照片印在门票上,于是,每张门票都成了个人专属。最值得一提的是,在通货膨胀的今天,吴哥的门票这十年来都没有任何变化。十年前的三天票是$40,现在依然是同样价格。 买完门票后,我们便直奔巴肯山。中途路过吴哥寺,远远地便能看见人山人海。我倒吸一口气,这么多人,我们如何拍摄日落?对巴肯山的日落,我似乎有了不好的预感。Bunny把车停在巴肯山下,指着不远处的一条山路说道,“你们就从那儿上山吧,我在山下等你们。”放眼看去,上巴肯山的游客也不少。我有点担心,山下这么多人,我们能在人群中找到Bunny吗?或者说,Bunny会找到我们吗?但实际上,我的担心有点多余,Bunny从来没有错过我们,他总是在我们从寺庙出来的第一时间向我们挥手。 在上山的入口处,有个伤残人士组成的民乐团在演奏,我大概看了下介绍,他们自称是地雷的受害者,请求募捐。后来我们在吴哥的每个遗迹入口处,都有看到这样的乐团。柬埔寨曾有举世闻名的吴哥文明,但也曾遭遇几十年的战乱。从1945的抗法战争到后来的内战,几十年的战争让柬埔寨变得满目疮痍。战争中埋下的1000多万颗地雷,比其人口还多,约占全球地雷总数的十分之一。因地雷遍布太广,数量太多,已成为延续至今最大的威胁,给柬埔寨人民带来巨大灾难,被地雷炸伤的人数远大于被炸死的人数。从1991年10月23日“巴黎和平协议”订后,联合国开始往柬埔寨派驻扫雷部队,但据说,要清除柬埔寨所有的地雷,需上百年甚至更长的时间。坏消息是,柬埔寨每天依然有平民被地雷所伤;但好消息是,我们游客去的地方,地雷都已清理干净。只要你走在有路的地方,就不用担心地雷。我放了钱在他们的募捐盒里。后来,每看到这样的乐团,我俩都会捐钱。有人说,有些乐团是假装成地雷受害者,只为骗取钱财。但不管怎样,我相信他们是真的。在神的领地,你敢说谎吗?为了赶上落日,我俩快步向山上走去。巴肯山虽为山,但并不高,高度仅65米,与吴哥窟的高度相近。尽管如此,它也是吴哥区域的制高点之一,所以,它总是被人们列为看日出或日落的地方。爬上山,我俩仅用了十分钟。但一上山,我傻眼了,举目望去,除了人还是人。随着人流往前走,有工作人员在维持秩序,要求大家排成一列,排队上山。抬头,仰望,矗立在山顶的巴肯寺,高高在上。虽然神庙底部大多坍塌,但屹立在山顶的它,依然气势不减。高棉人崇拜山,山与山神,是他们的原始信仰。真腊王朝的国王耶输跋摩一世登基后,把都城从洞里萨湖边的罗洛士迁至吴哥所在的一片平原,并在巴肯山上建立了第一座国庙。巴肯在当时不仅是王朝的中心,也成为婆罗门世界的宇宙中心——须弥山。(
2013年春节,准备去越南柬埔寨看看。 原计划是从南宁陆路进越南,由北往南穿越越南到柬埔寨吴哥窟后回国。 做好计划开始买飞机票时发现,从柬埔寨暹粒回国的机票比较贵,从国内去胡志明的机票倒是比较便宜。 这次去柬埔寨主要就是去看那世界七大奇迹的吴哥窟,去寻找高棉的微笑,这是不能略去的。 于是就有了直飞胡志明市,由胡志明市去柬埔寨暹粒,再回到胡志明市,再一路北下,经过美奈,大叻,牙庄,惠安,顺化,河内,下龙湾回国的路线。 虽然去柬埔寨走了个回头路,但从节约自己并不充分的资金上来看,还是个不错的选择。 废话不多说,直接看图说话,虽然照片质量不好,但以量取胜吧。 一千多张照片记录了全程,并附有路线攻略。 春节前,赶上越南证涨价,我们是两次入境越南,需要一月两次入境,两本证花了1140元。 福州飞上海再飞胡志明市两人机票包括税费2850元。 因为我们的飞机是凌晨到达胡志明市,在国内预定了宾馆,2晚总计30刀,加接机14刀。 带了1300刀,剩余290刀。两个人总花费约10566元。 飞机正点到达胡志明市已经是凌晨1点了。 出关很顺利。 走出机场就看到有人举着我们名字的大牌子。 如果不是这么晚到达,根本不需要订酒店和接机,机场有大巴去市内。 在BOOKING订的房间总是不能让人满意,(但又能去哪里订纳?), 只有一个优点是提供早餐。 住在范五老街的小胡同里,走出胡同口就看见The SinhTourist的招牌。这个小帅哥是店里唯一会汉语的人。要不然,真不知道只会几个英语单词的半大老人怎么搞定买很多班次的汽车票。在The SinhTourist买了明天由胡志明市去柬埔寨暹粒的车票。本想买好回来时由胡志明市去河内的OPENBUS全程票。由于赶上了越南的春运。虽然现在是提前了一星期买票,但只有胡志明--美奈--大叻这一段路程有车票。而且只剩余4张票,赶紧掏钱把这一段的票先买了。其实在范五老街有很多家公司经营OPENBUS。我们从The SinhTourist出来,走了不到50米,看到一家公司卖OPENBUS票。可是售票员不会汉语,我们又不懂英语。正在对牛弹琴时,一位新加坡人也来买票,帮助我们买好了后半程的车票,而且还是全程卧铺车票。显然,这段路程的车票已经涨价。现在想想,The SinhTourist不是没有票,他是在等涨价再卖。涨点钱能买到票就好。我们后来遇到很多人买不到车票,从而打乱了整个旅游计划。我们避开了国内的春运,来到越南却赶上了越南的春运。看来,春节期间也要避开越南旅游了。这家公司的马路对面有换汇的,汇率比市中心区的金店低点。换了点越南盾去吃午饭,就在大街边上的小店。价格一点也不比国内便宜,越南人做生意是一致对外,内外有别。范五老街志性建筑。旅店有简易地图。范五老街距胡志明市的景点并不是很远,我们也想走路沿线看看。来前就听说越南的水果鲜榨汁很好喝,路边看到一家,结果是大失所望。晚上回来在小胡同的另一出口处,有一家现做现卖,有很多人坐在小板凳上等待,那个才是好喝。街边小公园街景在繁华的大街中央广场,有一尊骑马铜像,是越南的民族英雄陈元汉。他昭示世人,越南人民是不会忘记历史的。说到越南的历史,是离不开中国的。秦朝时,秦始皇派军队征服了越南北部,中国的版图扩大到越南。公元10世纪,五代十国时,交趾叛乱。爱州(今越南清化)牙将吴权在海门镇打败汉军,次年称王。968年越南丁朝建立,安南最终建立了国家,但一千多年来一直作为中国的属国或藩属国。19世纪后期,法国对越南进行殖民侵略,清朝派兵抵抗,冯子材和刘永福、黑旗军等参战。1885年,清政府与法国订《中法新约》,被迫承认越南独立。从此,越南彻底从中国版图独立,并沦为法国殖民地。1945年第二次世界大战结束前后,胡志明在越南北方的河内宣布独立。而南方还处在受法国殖民保护的保大皇帝管辖之下。1954年7月21,署《日内瓦协议》。《日内瓦协议》规定,越南以北纬17度为界,南北分治,北方由胡志明领导,南方由保大皇帝统治。1955年7月17日,美国撕毁了《日内瓦协议》,取代法国在越南南方的地位,设定了所谓的越南共和国。吴庭艳发动政变,废黜保大皇帝,自己当了总统,建立南越南共和国,首都为西贡。自此,越南南方沦为美国新殖民主义的殖民地。1961年,越南战争爆发,美国与韩国、菲律宾、泰国、澳大利亚、新西兰等国组成联军,介入了这场战争。中国出动军方和大量民力、免费物质,支持越南,援越抗美。1973年1月27日《巴黎协定》订,美国承认越南民主共和国在国际上的法律地位,退出越南战争。同年3月从越南南方撤出全部军队及其同盟者军队和军事人员。1975年5月,胡志明领导的越盟(即后来的越南劳动党)击败了吴庭艳政府。1976年7月,越南南北实现统一,定国名为越南社会主义共和国,首都为河内。为了纪念胡志明的伟业,将前南方首府西贡改名为胡志明市。陈元汉铜像前方是滨城市场,是胡志明市最大的市场。里面各类生活旅游纪念用品齐全。还有各类越南小吃。越南曾经沦为法殖民地,法式烙印无处不在,从早点的法棍到街边的咖啡店让人以为身处欧洲某小镇。中国元素也无处不在,从门面上的汉字到理发小作坊。刮胡子捏背与国内一样舒坦。无论大街小巷,摩托都是绝对的主力。原来以为越南是个穷国。现在已经颠覆了以前的认识。越南国家是不富,但人民却不穷。不像天国,国家富人民穷。到总统府已经快4点了,拍了张照片没进去。门前有妹妹执勤,很乐意与我合影。合影后还到没有路灯的马路上将往来车辆叫停,让我们轻松过马路。胡志明市路边有很多这样大的公园,供市民在公园里休闲歇息。从总统府走到红教堂只有几分钟的路程。圣母大教堂是法国人于1883年建成,据说建造教堂的红砖全部是从法国运来,是仿照巴黎圣母院钟楼的设计建造的。教堂不收门票,但只对游客开放前面一小部分。站在教堂的入口处,看那高大的穹顶和花窗,配上庄严肃穆的神像,显得庄重又有气势。从教堂前方看,两座40米高的白色钟塔直冲云霄。门前伫立着一座重达4吨的圣母玛丽亚雕像,红色基座白色雕像与身后的红教堂相配的极为融洽。红教堂的旁边是百年邮政局。从外表看是一幢普通的欧式建筑。但里面穹顶设计源自伦敦水晶宫的大玻璃屋顶。漂亮的地砖,红色电话亭,手绘的西贡地图和墙上巨幅胡志明画像勾勒出一幅豪华又安详的画面。我也不能免俗,在这豪华又古老的邮局里寄出一张写给自己的明信片。走出邮局,四周景色。红教堂正对着的路是胡志明市最繁华的一条路。路口街头的宣传画,好像又回到40年前的中国。中国统治了越南上千年,越南的很多民俗与中国一样。传统节日主要有春节、清明、端午、中秋、重阳等。现在春节快到了,路上张灯结彩,很有过年的气氛。也不乏高档商场,大牌云集。进百盛商场看看,世界各地的大牌都能在这里看到。二楼还有吃饭的地方。PHO24米粉连锁店在越南很有名气,但我不喜欢吃米粉,没尝试。走过百盛就是歌剧院,歌剧院的建筑风格是最具法属时期的建筑。([]
发帖子前,我犹豫了很久到底要不要发这个帖,在夏特路上,老孤说过,“能花力气写帖子的人,肯定没力气走路”。虽然我对他这种言论嗤之以鼻,但迫于他的淫威,我一路忍着。老孤问我:夏特好玩不?我说不好玩,他说有机会带我玩好玩的,能让我骂爹的。我知道他说的是狼塔C,所以在走狼C之前,我都得顺着他。关于夏特穿越,有爱美丽的大帖在,咱的帖子就凑合着看看,其实,我是冲着奖品中那个野餐篮来的。当然,这一路的点滴,也应该记录下来。近五天的穿越,让一群来自五湖四海的陌生人,成为了好兄弟,好姐妹,还有什么比这个更重要呢。先放几张图片,作为漫步夏特记的引子。写帖其实是一个回忆和看片的过程,而回忆和看片往往容易让自己“热泪盈眶”。谢谢一起陪伴走过的那些兄弟姐妹,老孤、五道黑、农夫、菲儿姐、蓝色、KK、花花、半仙,谢谢静尘姐姐……很多很多,谢谢天公作美,五天的万里无云天气,赐给我一个白白的眼镜框……一起翻过达坂一起走过冰川一起趟过冰河其实我很鄙视自己的优柔寡断,在狼C与夏特之间,居然纠结了好长时间。在临近出发不得不做出选择时,居然用了抛硬币的办法,正面是狼C,反面是夏特,结果连抛三次,都是反面。既然与夏特有缘,就走夏特吧!30日下午,迫不及待屁颠屁颠赶往机场,晚点半小时。队伍在乌鲁木齐最晚等我到20点,若赶不上,就走狼C了,实在不行,还可以去喀纳斯腐败一圈。这里要谢谢砾石周到的安排,接机后在半路截住了队伍的大巴,才得以顺利坐上前往昭苏的大巴。瘸子、登陆、花花、木头、半仙……我们这些人在群里早已聊得火热,俨然一个亲友团。走夏特之前,因为肠炎,我已经一周没有吃米饭,都是喝一些流质的食物,也没有碰肉,还吃了一堆抗生素,整个身子软绵绵的,浑身没劲。包里还带着一周的药量。上车后,菲尔姐递给我一个鸡腿,我饿的实在慌,也管不了那么多了,几口就吞了下去,并祈祷着肚子别翻江倒海。一夜好眠。在昭苏县城吃完早餐后,我们赶往夏特乡。听说,还有一个捐助仪式。在夏特边防派出所老孤是个大好人,说白了是dao嘴豆腐心。似乎那些贫困山区的父老乡亲们都认识他,想必是经常搞公益活动。这次走夏特,老孤带队,是缘于江枫。江枫要去祭拜他的好友青城,因为这份情谊,所以本打算不再走夏特的老孤,再走最后一次夏特。老孤说,他已经走了12次夏特,8次狼C,已经走得快吐了,再走两次狼C,他就不再带队走这两条线,而要走新线路了。你看他的脑门,都走秃了,照相时只要对着他的脑门就曝光过度。队伍在夏特乡边防派出所和小朋友们合影!捐赠结束后,我们赶往夏特古道公园入口。在这里,要与管理部门交涉,才能进入。这位美女叫蓉蓉,五道黑全程保护的对象,关系可想而知。关于五道黑,有好多传说,总之,是个人物!木头也忍不住摆骚,这家伙体力很好,全程见不到他屁股。夏特古道穿越许可证靠着车窗,大伙轮流订“生死状”,大约是出了事情,景区等部门没有责任之类。当时心里还挺有点挺小感慨的,这场面,有那么一点悲壮吧。办完手续后,进入景区,中巴车载着我们一路颠簸地驶往徒步起点。路过山神处,下车拜过,保佑我们一行安全穿越。中巴车将我们送至徒步起点,在这里,看到了几家牧民。正收拾背包准备往肩上扛的时候,老孤说有人愿意再往里送我们一程,费用也不贵,于是,刚把包从中巴车上拿下来,又往卡车上搬。二十多个人,站在一辆拉马的卡车上,颠簸着浩浩荡荡驶向小木屋。一路,要不停地躲闪来自小道两边树枝的侵袭。天空很蓝,在车子停下寻路的间隙,也不忘照上两张。第一次到新疆,这里的景色,对我来说,充满新鲜感。到了小木屋后,夏特徒步算式真正开始。第一天的路很轻松,走过夏特牧场,到河边,就到了我们的营地。路也好走,有清晰的马道,应该是为明天的达坂翻越热身。出发之前,大伙合影。我、KK和半仙已经迫不及待地背上了背包。一行中,大雨、彼得、花花、龙四都是走过狼C的,大雨还登顶过慕士塔格峰,这次是第二次走夏特,花花和龙四是刚从狼C回来,又赶上了夏特的队伍。我们膜拜花花,认为她是狼C和夏特连走的第一个美女。龙四已经在新疆泡了好几个月,走完夏特,又要赶往昆仑山拣玉石。半仙登过哈巴和玉珠,走起路来不带停的。我不知道老孤的包有多重,只知道包里装了一大袋子大米,好几个锅。休息的时候,他掂量了一下靠在他包上的背包,问谁的,我说我的,他狠狠踹了包一脚,骂好轻……我的包20公斤,确实有点轻。 当然,我也不会忘记组织。我了表示我对组织的忠诚,我一开始就套上了组织的背包罩,只是觉得这个背包罩太软了,不够硬朗。我还带了组织的旗帜,但可悲的是这一路居然忘了拿出来晒晒。在一处平地休息,等待后面的队员。天空似乎飘起了黑云,要下雨的样子,风也大了起来,只好放下包,穿上冲锋衣。这个时候,已经是下午4点多,离我们的营地,大概还有1个小时的路程。夏特穿越,居然已经在不知不觉中开始了。五道黑深邃的目光五道黑,是一种鱼的名字,分布于位于新疆的额尔齐斯河与乌伦古河流域,相必是中肉质鲜美的鱼。我们亲切的称他为道黑,因为不顺口,也有人称他为黑道。于是,一个温文尔雅的名字,就开始带点暴力色彩了。道黑这一路,是鞍前马后,用实际行动阐释着什么叫做一个合格的护花使者。让他领路,太不现实,让他收队,更是不成气候,他就围着他的蓉蓉转。我想,道黑的女朋友应该是很幸福的,你瞧蓉蓉脸上的笑容就知道了。江枫,黝黑的脸,可以看出也是一个老江湖了。这一路,江枫基本上都和赵赵美女走在一块,他两其实算得上真正的收队,属于那种走起路来不慌不忙,处处留影的人。某晚,隔着帐篷,这两人还在交流一路上的照片。只听见江枫在抱怨:“赵赵,你拍的咋都是斜的?”赵赵答曰这其实是一种拍摄手法。花花,原名青瓷花,四川美女,长得很妖精。和花花的初次交流是在夏特乡派出所外边。那会才知道她走遍了川西的所有线路,刚从狼C回来那会,全身都浮肿,刚消肿就来了夏特。我心想这女子咋这么厉害,看样子不像啊。不知道听谁说花花的女儿1岁,以至于我一直以为她是一个1岁孩子的母亲,各回各家后交流才知道事情真相。菲尔姐,刚上车那会便塞给我一个鸡腿和两包静尘姐带给我的干果和牛肉干,一路上,对我们照顾的无微不至,每天晚上都吃到了可口的饭菜,手艺绝对超过五星级酒店的大厨。菲儿姐这一路走的很辛苦,背着一个岩石搬坚硬的背包,到了营地还要生活做饭,甚至回到乌鲁木齐,还给我们包了很多盘酱牛肉包子……菲儿姐,辛苦了!花花和菲儿姐的合影!KK,在哈密的云南人,不明白“KK”是何含义。调侃高手,一路上,大部分人都被他调侃过,部分人还被她调戏过,连老孤、农夫也不例外,尤其是花花,从乌鲁木齐开始被调侃,一直到了昭苏,过了夏特,到了阿克苏,回到乌鲁木齐,仍然是KK的重点调侃对象,可谓至交。追究KK调侃功夫为何这么高深,他自曝大学时曾被辅导员调侃过,青出于蓝而胜于蓝,于是就有了现在的KK。听说KK走乌孙古道过冰河时掉了进去,心灵受到了严重的创伤,所谓“一朝被蛇咬,十年怕井绳”,在夏特过冰河时,看他一手抓着绳子,一手挽着花花的样子,还有那惊恐的眼神,就知道伤得不轻。嘿嘿,名字很怪,我第一时间就想到了嘿咻!也是行走在第一梯队的强人。喜欢脱个精光拍裸照。我观察了,肚子上其实肥肉不少,但总体讲,肌肉厚度还是盖过了肥肉厚度。酒量一流,和老孤、KK等有的一拼,不像我,三杯下肚就找不着北了。路很好走,大伙走得甚至都有点散漫。其实我们是一支严格听从领队指挥的队伍,这在过冰河那天得到了充分的体现。老孤自己也对我们的纪律性大肆称赞。全程下来,我没见他用杖尖戳过人,可见我们有多听话。也没办法,夏特这样的路,不乖不行。我是看出来了,我的这些队友都是走路的料,吭哧吭哧走路都不怎么爱拍照。远处的雪山,近处的牧场,行走的队友,很和谐啊!和龙四交流了一下,小家伙来自广东,搞得是摄影职业,那会说的是走完夏特要到尼雅遗址,然后从敦煌到甘南,再到尼泊尔晃荡一个月。我表示羡慕,他表示付出了很大的代价。可能这一圈下来,要破产了吧,所以他后来改去昆仑山找玉石了。云越来越厚,眼看快要下雨了,加快脚步赶往营地。到达营地的时候,已经飘起了雨,淅淅沥沥的。在树下找了块平地,赶紧搭起帐篷。我带的是单人帐,比较轻,主要还是习惯一个人睡,再则也没有美女愿意与我混帐。晒晒刚买不久的帐篷,之前在太白用了一次,感觉一般般,比较中庸。早早地钻进帐篷,等待后面的队友。帐篷空间比较狭小,里面放下一个80L的包后,腿就无法完全伸直。这个时候,我才打开老孤给我的那个路餐袋子,看看里面究竟有啥。馕、卤蛋、咸菜、烤肠……这样的馕,从来没吃过,感觉很有负担。事实证明,我的确不擅长吃囊,走完夏特后,我居然还有3个馕没吃。倒是那包坚果和牛肉干,成了我的最爱。我们的营地([]
《序》 置身车水马龙,霓虹闪烁的都市,竟然觉得如此陌生。眼前晃动的,依然是棘丛倒木、悬崖峡谷,还有那雄浑的山脊和广阔的苔原。徜徉在长白山的怀怉,与世隔绝的7天6夜已成我与队友们生命中不可磨灭的一部分,必将带给我们永久和激动人心的回忆。 对于每个户外人来说,穿越长白山无疑都是一个美好的梦想。然而,由于长白山特殊的地貌和管理等方面的原因,并不是每个人都有机会实现这个梦想。对于立志成为吉林户外精英团队的特战山地旅来说,穿越长白山更是我们的一种责任和荣耀。2008年,我们胜利完成了长白山南北大穿越(https//www.ccfreeman.com/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=24453&extra=page%3D8),然而,这个胜利无法让我们感到满足,因为我们的计划设定的只是从一个位置登上天池火山口。2010年,当我们准备从多个位置再次登上天池火山口时,途中遭遇了恶劣天气,不得不临时改变线路,抱憾而归(https//www.ccfreeman.com/bbs/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=27995&extra=page%3D4)。 2011年的“十一”长假,我们再次向长白山发起冲击,并设定从北坡、西坡和南坡各找一个位置登顶天池火山口。计划名称定为《“三点看天池”7天6夜长白山大穿越》。在4号界碑和6号界碑间,属于我方天池火山口的范围,被北坡景区和南坡景区分割成三部分,连续穿越很难实现。我们所设定的计划,实际上是一次跳穿,而在酷似盆沿的火山口上实现跳穿,除了大落差的上升和下降之外,更要绕过景区和公路,难度和强度大大增加,此外,还必须经过进山和出山的漫长的原始丛林穿越,其间,峡谷遍布,倒木纵横,因此,时间对于这次计划的完成来说更是一个不得不考虑的因素,7天6夜并不宽裕。 感谢上苍,赐给我们晴好的天气。当计划制定周密并准备充分后,天气便是计划成败的决定因素; 感谢大山,保佑我们平安。山是有灵性的,当你怀着执着的朝圣之心走向她的时候,她终将会敞开怀抱接纳你; 感谢队友,给我勇气和信心,你们的一路相伴,才终于让我有机会筑梦成真。 这次穿越,对于年轻的特旅来讲,创造了两个记录: 一是连续负重穿越时间最长的记录—15小时;二是无补给连续露营时间最长的记录—6夜。 对于每个参加穿越的队员来说,每个人都有各自不同的收获。而对于路线的设计和活动的组织者来讲,此次行程对我来说更有不同寻常的意义—四十岁的生日,我正是在穿越途中度过的。先上几张片子: 《秣马厉兵》行走在都市的街头,我的步伐比以往任何时候都更加坚定;环顾往来的人群,突然产生一种凌空俯视的感觉。有人说,喜欢户外的人大多比较自我,回想起7天6夜的经历,这一刻,这种特质在我身上被瞬间放大。为什么要登山,为什么要穿越?这个话实在无需浪费笔墨。酒逢知己饮,诗向会人吟。道不同,不相为谋。能来这里阅读文字的,必定是同道中人。话似乎有些扯远了,还是回到这次穿越,从计划的制定说起吧。顾名思义,特战山地旅(以下简称特旅)的活动自然是以山地穿越为主。根据时间和强度划分,目前特旅的活动主要分为四类:一是休闲计划,以短途的户外放松娱乐为主,同时给家人和朋友创造亲近户外的机会;二是训练计划,就近就便,以提高户外技能和锻炼体能为主;三是作战计划,主要利用双休日或小长假对省内的陌生山地进行穿越,露营一到二日,活动有一定的强度;四是攻坚计划,利用长假,进行长线山地穿越,全程负重,露营三日以上,活动的强度、难度和危险性并存。以上活动分类中,最令人期待、最激动人心、最值得回忆的当属攻坚计划。然而,由于时间关系,一年之中,最多也仅“十一”和“春节”这两次机会。而春节期间,由于习俗的季节的原因,基本很难出行。因此,对执行攻坚计划来说,“十一”长假就显得更为珍贵。自2007年5月成立以来,特旅每年都会利用“十一”长假进行攻坚作战,2011年的“十一”,自然也不会例外。几个月前,队友们就关切地询问这次计划,当时我一直盘算着去长白山锦江大峡谷穿越。直到临近“十一”时,我突然改变主意,决定还去穿越长白山。因为穿越峡谷用不了太多时间,却会为此浪费整个“十一”长假,实在可惜。还有,去年因天气原因,没能按预定路线完成长白山的穿越,让我一直耿耿于怀,总想补上这个缺憾。再有,就是长白山的壮美和博大,时时呼唤着我再次投入她的怀抱。目已确定,穿越的思路也很快成型。第三次去同一个地方,线路的复杂程度必然要超过前两次。三坡连穿虽无法实现,但三坡跳穿总还不成问。接下来需要做的,就是详细的线路设计,这是一项非常耗费心血的工作,需要收集大量的信息,需要反复的权衡和比较,需要想像和假设,需要不断地否定。过程虽很痛苦,但痛苦的煎熬注定会有收获,在出发的前3天,穿越的详细线路终于出炉,所有穿越用图的准备也同时完成。直到这时,我才长出一口气,感到无比的轻松。“把每次户外行动当成作战任务来对待,不打无准备之仗”,这是特旅的一贯作战原则。路线制定越周密,准备工作越充分,计划成功的机率就越高,发生危险的机率就越小。最不费力气的,当属队员的选择。熟悉的,经常一起出队,已经熟悉得不能再熟悉;说不熟悉的,也并非只是一面之交。总之,彼此之间,大家都已相当了解。至于装备和食品的准备,由于有以前的经验做参考,个人东西自己准备,公用物品按分工落实,一切准备工作按部就班进行。9月28日,行前准备会议召开。除了远在吉林的驴行者外,所有队员悉数到场。会上,我向队友们介绍了穿越线路和行程注意事项,并对装备准备情况进行逐项落实,队友们集思广益,对很多细节问进行了探讨和明确,游医和佳一将买好的公共食品发放给大家分头携带。一切就绪,只待出发。 本次穿越过程中所使用的地图和备用图:出行前的准备会上,讲解穿越路线: 公共食品和装备称重: 行程文字写的太慢。先再上几张照片:第一天:夜入深山节后上班,听说“十一”期间我们去了长白山,同事女孩儿以为我们只是在山中找个地方一猫,呆了七天六夜然后就出来了。实际上,我们的行程远非她想像的那样简单。七天六夜,我们一直在与时间赛跑,一直在与自己抗争。如果没有亲身经历过,很难体味到其中的艰辛。七天六夜,我们风餐露宿,疲于奔波,每天除了睡觉,吃饭,其余时间全部用来赶路。而这里所说的路,根本就算不上路,除了天池火山口附近及刚入山时有一小段路有人踩过的痕迹外,其余所到之处根本看不到人迹。我们硬是用自己的身体和双脚,怀着必胜的信念,凭借无畏的勇气,在荆丛倒木、峡谷溪流、高山草甸、陡坡碎石间,开辟了一条通往胜利的艰难之路。经过6个小时的颠簸,载着九名特旅战士的大客车于10月1日凌辰1时抵达二道白河镇。在寒冷漆黑的街头,经过20分钟的等待,热心的出租车司机帮我们联系好了25元一位的旅店,但经大家简单商议,最终放弃了临时住店的想法,决定连夜进山。于是,三台出租车分别载着三名队员,刺破浓重的夜幕,无声地驶向长白山北坡山门。不到30分钟,车辆顺利到达预定的穿越起点,付过车款,告别司机,我们整理好行装,离开公路,一头扎进暗无边际的原始丛林。此刻刚好凌辰2时。9月30日17时,在长春黄河路客运站等车。不出门不知道人多。一路走来,车上,路上,站里,到处都是人。发车比平时晚了一个半小时。没有办法,长假使然,就这国情。寒冷的二道白河街头(拍摄时间:2011.10.10056)包车三辆,即刻进山到达穿越起点:整装待发(拍摄时间:2011.10.10159):一头扎进茫茫的原始丛林:对于特旅战士来讲,夜战已习以为常。开始的一段路,灌木密布,地上是松软的腐殖,头灯的光线在黑暗中显得异常明亮。接下来是松树林,地上是厚厚的青苔和松针,偶尔需要跨过一些倒木,相对来说,这种地貌的通行速度已经是很快的了。经过一条深沟,两次跨过沟中的小河,地势略有改变,爬坡的感觉开始明显。过河爬坡,过倒木(拍摄时间:2011.10.10305)行进途中,忽然发现GPS的指示方向有些偏移,赶紧校正位置,发现下一个导航点应该在河的另一侧,而此时,河谷变得又陡又深,根本无法跨过。于是,我们继续沿河上行,准备择机跨过峡谷。凌辰四点的时候,我们还没有找到过河的合适位置,大家又困又冷,有的队员建议就地扎营,等天亮再行过河。我马上否决了这一建议,因为距离天亮仅一个多小时的时间,扎下帐篷一会儿天就亮了,再收帐篷很浪费时间。更主要的是,此刻,在满是倒木和荆棘且地势不平的密林中,想找到一块营地是一件非常奢侈的事情。幽深的河谷:稍事休息后,我们继续前行,走出不远,发现峡谷这侧的坡度相对变缓,全体队员小心翼翼下到谷底,跨过谷底河流,准备上升至峡谷对面一侧的上方平台。咳嗽在前面探路,爬了一半,发现上方有一个断崖,断崖下方土质疏松,滑坠的危险极大,于是我们决定放弃这个位置,全体人员又下到谷底贴着崖壁继续前行找路。上有断崖行不通,我们只能撤回谷底继续找路:走出几十米远,发现上方的坡度变缓,似乎可以通过。我和咳嗽卸下背包,在我的帮助下,咳嗽徒手攀到断崖上方,并继续向上探路,不一会儿,咳嗽转了回来,说上方可以通过。终于看到了希望,大家都略微松了一口气,不过仰望眼前的断崖和上方长长的陡坡,心情又变得沉重起来,爬上去并不是一件轻松的事。开文找出绳子,甩给咳嗽,咳嗽再次爬上坡顶做好保护后,将绳子放了下来,先将自的背包吊了上去,然后,队员们拉着绳子,一个个负重爬上断崖,并陆续爬至坡顶。 咳嗽爬至崖上探路:做好上方保护后,咳嗽将绳子扔给队友: 队友们在崖下等待(拍摄时间:2011.10.1 0450)百度在绳子的保护下爬上断崖驴行者和游医爬断崖KEVIN收队,最后一个爬上断崖在我们陆续攀爬的过程中,天色渐亮,等最后一个队员爬至坡顶时,天光已大亮。驴行者拿出炉具,煮了一大锅咖啡,大家分别拿出自己的干粮,就着热咖啡吃下,这就是我们第一天的早餐。 胜利跨过峡谷,三军过后尽开颜(拍摄时间:2011.10.10530)跨过峡谷,就如同红军渡过赤水一样,我们大踏步向着预定的导航点进发。因为一夜未合眼,上午的时候有些头重脚轻的感觉,下午就什么感觉都没有了,大脑基本是一片空白,双脚就是机械地向前挪动。队友们的感觉估计也好不到哪去,因为他们还不如我能熬夜,但是没有一个人喊要休息,要扎营。 大步向前: 原始丛林中的艰难行进:([]
本贴所有图文,皆为原创。谢绝任何形式的转载。如有需要,请站短。 尼泊尔是一幅古怪的画。 雨季加都狭窄混乱的街道,泥泞不堪的地面,随处可见的神庙,满街的纱丽店,大大小小患着皮肤病的狗只……所有浓烈的色彩都堆砌在一起,冲撞着你的视觉。偏偏又因为作画人有着梵高那样的天赋,所以这画即使刺得人眼疼,却也另有一种动人心魄的魅力。* 本次出行线路:无锡-拉萨-樟木-加德满都-帕坦-巴克塔普尔-提米-奇特旺-博卡拉-加德满都-拉萨-无锡。6月23号出发,7月18号回到家,总计26天。 本来是准备在回来的时候走滇藏线的,但是电视里天天在播318线新都桥和雅江段因塌方断路的消息,就打消了这个念头。生命只有一次,安全第一。* 本次出行人员:本豆,本豆的无敌金牌搭档花花,小欣子,叔。三女一男。 其实四人组合是很好的,吃饭包车都经济实惠。唯一不好的是尼泊尔的旅馆撑死了只有三人间,出于安全考虑,我们一般都住在一起,每次叔独占一床,我们仨女的挤两张床,小欣子就只能睡在中间,叔叫她“填缝专家”,因此小欣子很恨叔,没事就跟他吵个小架。 关于叔,及叔的二三事叔其实了不起算个哥,但是因为队伍里有了小欣子这个九零后,哥就悲催地混成了叔。*加都,凤凰。叔其实很绅士,不管做什么都让着仨娘们。有次我从外面进来,花花和小欣子一个洗澡一个唱歌,房间里蒸汽弥漫,我奇怪地问:“叔呢?”小欣子说:“在楼下大堂里呆坐着。”我上楼的时候是路过大堂的,但是我没有注意到叔。叔,其实我不是无视你,我是450度近视……之后,如果叔不在,我通常是这样问小欣子的:“你苦逼叔呢?”*关于叔的脸小欣子有个同学,跟她男朋友打电话的时候,动不动就说:“小心我呼肿你的脸!”小欣子学给我们听,集体笑倒,以后,大家只要一不高兴,就扬言要呼肿对方的脸。某天,我无意中买到了一件很好看的衣服。兴冲冲地对叔说:“明天我要穿新衣服,你帮我多拍几张照片,要是拍不好,我就呼肿你的脸!”花在旁边幽幽地接一句:“那叔的脸一定是肿的。”*某天,东措叔满脸郁闷地坐在床上,说,刚才给老婆的QQ发了个表情,老婆居然回他说“你好。”隔壁有个小哥要去墨脱。叔听了蠢蠢欲动,长吁短叹。我说:叔,还是早点回家吧,否则下次你老婆要 “请问你是哪位”了。*总结:叔其实是个准好男人,大方豪气,从不和女同胞斤斤计较,热爱家庭,热爱宠物,虽然有时候细腻了点,比如喜欢看云卷云舒,喜欢听雨,喜欢拍小景,经常蹲在草丛和烂泥里(看贴童鞋敬请期待叔在以上俩场景里的照片)搞创作,但总的来说,叔是个堂堂正正的好男人。*下面附上一张叔在库玛丽女神庙专心搞创作的照片。 **上一张全家福。依次为花猪,小欣子,豆猪,叔。 淡扯完,从头说起。 我记得去年上海-拉萨的火车是两天发一趟的,叔说,每天都发。于是我不确定了,让叔去打听下。打听下来的结果,是每天发。于是提前十天去买票。到了代售点,人说,京沪高铁马上要开通,上海铁路局所属范围内,7月1号之前的火车票一律只能提前5天发售。于是回家。到了限定的日子,起个大早去,居然一张卧铺都没有,想着先上车,拼着坐到西安,总能补到的吧,就先买了3张硬座。 结果等到那天,一上车我就问有没有卧铺补,答复是没有,到哪都补不到。因为这趟车的卧铺出售权,是交给站台的,列车没有资格出售……除非过了格尔木,可是等到了格尔木,还补个毛啊。貌似有不少同学以为俺是为了省钱才买的硬座,8是滴,47小时呢,楼主8是铁打滴,如果有卧铺,是不会自虐滴——特此说明。不要再同情和佩服俺了。俺坐到下车,腰都坐断了,铁老大、黄牛和旅行社以及所有炒火车票的人,祖宗八代都给俺问候到了。哦,对了,叔为了这三张鸟火车票,一共跑了三次,劳苦功高。出发前的准备有点琐碎。护照拍成照片存在邮箱里,以防出国后万一丢失或被偷;药物准备了易蒙停、咽立消、阿莫西林、万金油等,淘宝高原安集体涨价了,于是在掌柜的推荐下买了高原宁,结果是毛用没有,一路照样反得头昏眼花; 淘宝还买了《走遍全球尼泊尔》、《背包旅游英语》两本书,以及2个月前开始背英语,天天看美剧(虽然等出国后才发现,俺的英语水平等于文盲);据说那边太阳很厉害,忍着心疼买了金瓶安耐晒(虽然后来发现这玩意不适合俺,用了脸上的皮掉了一层又一层,摸上去跟砂皮似的);叔提前一个月就天天跟俺念叨,今天败了啥,明天又败了啥。俺帮他粗算了一下,人还没出去,2000大洋没了……花花比我们提前一天到拉萨,说好在东措帮我们定房。 火车上的47个小时生不如死,上去后先问有没有卧铺补,答复是没有,到哪都补不到。因为这趟车的卧铺出售权,是交给站台的,列车没有资格出售……除非过了格尔木,可是等到了格尔木,还补个毛啊。坐到后来,终于麻木。到拉萨后洗澡的时候才发现,屁股是麻的。 车上听歌,看小电影,小欣子和叔玩扑克,输的人贴纸条,小欣子的脸贴得跟个“公”字似的,她愤愤地说叔是千王…… 我则按照惯例,在过了格尔木之后开始高反,吐了两次,昏沉沉闭着眼装死。 无锡火车站。还好,人不是很多。到西安的时候,至少晚点了一个小时。车到兰州,我特地提着相机下去拍兰州烧饼。没有。只有兰州炸鸡。格尔木。盼望着,盼望着,岗秀到了,拉萨的脚步近了……东措的走廊。俺居然还是住在202,还是去年那张床……缘分啊!到了拉萨,我高反得象头死猪。很快我发现,不是我一个人反,连皮实得跟个铁蛋似的花花,这次也嚷不舒服,叔的高反也紧跟着来了,嘴唇紫得吓人,据他说,心跳达到了120。一直睡到下午,才提起精神,去大昭寺转了一圈。在拉萨的几天,就是胡乱混日子。和花花一起来的还有她朋友小天。小天虽然是第一次跟着花出远门,但天生是个麻大胆,都不用花领着,自己出去乱转。每天早上出门,不到晚上11点基本是不见人的。花开始还担心,后来就推测,丫一定是有人陪着玩,否则不可能在花主动要求陪她的情况下,一个人急急忙忙地出门去……于是,我管花叫“花尔摩斯”。花龙颜大悦,欣然接受了这一称呼。 *仓央嘉措的玛吉阿米。据说是装13的好地方,不过俺老人家不感兴趣,一次也没上去过。也就是在每次路过的时候,随便拍一张。大昭寺前磕长头的人们。今年的天气很诡异,拉萨的云层很厚,经常下雨。照片拍出来总是灰蒙蒙的,唯一的好处是不象往年那么干燥得让人难受。*大昭寺的金顶。广场。远一点,再来一张。在大街小巷里乱窜。这张照片,是叔帮俺拍的。走累了,闯进一家茶馆。酥油茶6元一壶。看到壶的大小后,我们一致认为,伙计收的是游客价。下午的小昭寺。进去转个圈。不要门票,当然,大殿门关着,你啥也看见。大殿。在大殿和外墙之间,还有一条夹道,供转经的人们围着殿堂转。小昭寺的这夹道算很宽的,还能放下一排转经筒。我后来又逛过几个小寺庙,那些夹道,都是又窄又暗的。早上的时候转经的人摩肩接踵,现在,只有三三两两的几个。我们也跟着转了一圈。 东措对面的木如寺。这个寺庙,经常被游客忽略,其实,那里面,还有一个印经院呢。 有个不大的殿堂,很安静。除了早上,这里几乎没有人来。从尼泊尔回国后,我在一天清晨重新造访了这里。很多信徒。这是木如寺旁边的下密院。也是除了早上,白天没什么人。小昭寺紧隔壁的次巴拉康寺,据说是拉萨人气最旺的小寺庙。真不是假的。清晨的时候,全是熙熙攘攘的人流,在昏暗的夹道里一圈一圈地转着,寺外桑烟缭绕,周围的小摊子,全是卖的和这个寺庙有关的东西。我买了一束花,也进去转了一圈。卖花的小摊。大的花束3元,小的2元。烟雾。次巴拉康寺大殿门上的彩色小鹿。([]

There are many like-minded asking me about it. I now present this thread to briefly tell everybody about my journey.The starting point of this traverse was from the highest peak of the western part of the Tibetan plateau, Jieshan Daban, and the day was April 20, 2010.I was heading eastward passing Bungdag Co, Yanghu Co, Rola Co, and Kangzhagri Mountain, which crossed over the desolate region from west to east. The journey continued northward to enter the unpopulated area of Altun Mountains, through Hoh Xil Mountains, Kunlun Mountains, Whale lake, ..., finally met some people by the Aqqikkol Hu and then arrived in Huatugou by vehicle three days later and that day was July 5. It had been 77 days in total. I had been all alone 74 days after leaving Jieshan Daban until arriving inAqqikkol Hu, which was about 1400km and about four months.[The Great Chang Tang] In Tibetan, "Chang Tang" means northern empty wilderness while narrowly, means unpopulated region in northern part of Tibet. However, it actually indiCATes all of the no man's land in northern. The great Chang Tang includes desolate places in Northern Tibet, Hoh Xil, Alun Mountains, and Kunlun Mountains, which are interconnected to form the unique and super empty wilderness in the world. Only because Hoh Xil is the most known name, most people just think this vast land is equivalent to Hoh Xil. In reality, Hoh Xil is only a small piece of the Great Chang Tang both administratively and geologically. The Great Chang Tang, the last land to chase your freedom and dream.The route that I traversed ForeplayI arrived in Tibet in the early March, a couple of troubles bothered me. The brand new plug got its positive and negative wrongly connected; the rivets of my rucksack eASIly got broken from now and again; and a multi-functional charger got damaged and so on. Riding my bike to Ngari for warming up of this journey, lost my rucksack but later got it back; lost my camera bag and got it back later again, and finally lost a big bicycle pannier in the street of Gyangze town under the eyes of police, including clothes, solar panel and so on.Without much choice, I returned to Lhasa to adjust all the stuff I would need in the wilderness. Then I begged some luck by going to Nyingchi to enjoy the blossoms of peach trees and to take a hot spring bath. I even had the privilege to enjoy time with ten girls in the hot spring. I felt my bad luck had all gone and then returned to Lhasa again to prepare going to Ngari. I did not expect that I was cheated on by some hustler and lost some money and delayed my schedule for a week. I had to find a car myself quickly to Nagri. However, I lost the tool for fast-parting my rear wheel on my way to Nagri, where was a remote area in Tibet and nowhere to buy the tool. Even if there was one in Lhasa it would take at least ten days for a special delivery service. I was lucky that my mate Duola asked a driver to bring the tool for me from Lhasa. I thought there should be no more nightmare like this but the nozzle of my brand new multi-fuel stove was broken. The next day I tried everywhere to weld them back together. The first three shops could not do the welding for copper. The fourth one said they could do it but could not guarantee a sUCCess. The engineer said it would be ten Chinese yuans if it was a success. I agreed. Just in seconds, my nozzle became crap in a flash of lightening. I was so upset. Again, Duola helped me by bringing her own MSR oil stove and Dingding's sleeping bag to Nagri. That was already April 16 and I did not have much time to waste. It was still night and extremely cold and dark. Driver was not bothered to pop his head out of the driving cab. I climbed up on the top of the iron wastes, taking my bicycle down. In a hurry, I punched my old water bag. Fortunately I had another MSR water bag given by a friend of mine otherwise I would definitely fail without even starting my journey. For the first time for me to set up the brand new tent in strong, cold winds. It would be impossible to do so if the tent was not a whole piece. Extremely cold outside, about -15C, might be lower than that, I put my head into the sleeping bag but was nearly suffocated to death, honestly. The smell of Dingding's sleeping bag was, lol, so extraordinary. I woke up around 11 o'clock. There were still strong winds outside so that I had to use my bodyweight to keep the tent in place. At the time when I just started to cook and eat, four patrolling soldiers approached me. To their surprise someone, in this season, camped in Jieshan Daban. I was so nervous and afraid they were the people to block my journey because I was caught and deported from the desolate land last year. Luckily the four soldiers did not know my destination and were very kind to me. After they left, I immediately packed my stuff and pushed my bike into the depths of the unpopulated area just in case anything unexpected happened.The bike was very heavy due to the provisions and hard to control. There was even a quite small hill that I had to remove my bike panniers to get over it. This really struck me because this happened even the path was still the hardship one at the moment and I could not imagine what I would do once I entered the uncertain, endless wilderness. Until now I had not met anyone, even the nomadic pastoralists. I remembered there were quite a few of them roaming at the edge of the northern Tibetan plateau last year. All of these indicated it was not the good pasture season in such low temperature and strong winds. Around 16km there was a sheep cote, where I passed it last year, east of Lungmu Co. I was exhausted at this point so that I decided to camp in here and to rest my head. After arranging tent everything I went out to look for the wetland discovered by Duola and Liumeng last year. I was determined to find it.There were many hot springs in the wetland which were underground water with a constant temperature. The wetland therefore became an ideal habitat for some fishes and weeds under such harsh weather, which was the very unique land feature of terrain in this over 5200m highland.Perpetual snow in the valley blown to corn shape by strong windsThis wetland was discovered by Duola and Liumeng. The next day rather than continuing to travel, I stayed inside the sheep cote, hesitating and pondering over. Indeed, there were so many problems before this journey;I did not have sufficient physical preparation;the load had already reached its limitation; I still coughed a lot;the weather was so extreme and cold. All in all, I did not think this journey was well prepared and I did not have confidence in completing this journey mentally and physically. To do, or not to do, it was the question. Similarly I did not have confidence in my facilities, not knowing whether all of them would work functionally or not. The fact was one of the rivets got broken again and the front rack came loose. In the afternoon, I replaced all the rivets of the panniers with screws I had prepared before. This was an excellent job I had done which gave me no further troubles throughout my whole journey. I also re-adjusted the front rack. However I did not think it would definitely all right because I did not have a tool to do it. When the darkness descended,I made up my mind to continue my journey, which, of course, was not beyond any imagination. You could hear the gigantic sound of wind if the picture had a sound Day 3 (April 22), 52.4km, Camping 5145mGot up in the morning, could not put everything into the bags. Without much choice I had to throw away three portions of tsampa, elbow pads, and crampons. Following the road of the lead-zinicmine I found the side path to enter the wilderness, which was on the riverbed and very hard to see. I missed this side path last year so that I had to take a short cut into the wilderness directly then. That was why I had taken extra care to find the side path. The following journey was to get over a big hill, which lay 5275m above sea level and was the highest point of my whole journey. Around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, I passed the side path leading to Orba Co and started a journey which was complete strange to me. I ate a piece of pilot breads, which was frozen like rocks so that I had to use my spade to crush it. At 6 o'clock in the evening, I had pushed plus rode my bicycle for about 32 km. I reckoned I should have been able to double this if I did no carry such heavy load. The wind became stronger and stronger. I opened the parasail kits and tested it. The result was far beyond what I expected. With the aid of the strong wind I was just like flying over the wilderness. After 8 o'clock in the evening, I started to observe the water Source and to get ready to camp. Map showed there were successive springs along the path and assembled to puddles. But I had overestimated the water source here in this land and in this season there were endless wilderness inside the valley, where I could not see a single drop of water. As it became darker and darker, I felt a little bit nervous which resulted in three spokes of the parasail broken and became a useless rubbish. Anyway, it helped me to move forward 20km more which benefited me a lot later on. When time approached 9.30 pm, it was almost completely dark. I had to lie my bike on the ground and went on to try to find water on the north side of the valley. This was a wide and flat sandy land, where I could not see any ditches there and further was complete darkness. I returned to get my GPS to look up the contours and found the south part of the valley was closer to a hill so I took the way. Finally I found a piece of ice in a ditch. I smashed about 20litre of ice. The ice was quite shallow scattered with sheep poo. On my way back, my eyes were hurt by strong winds, which got me a couple of days to recover. It was nearly 23 o'clock after I set up the tent. It also took about 40 mins to melt the ice. I was so tired and my appetite was completely spoiled. I then had a little bit of milk. I had never expected thing would go like this, it was so distressing. Streams along the path, ice everywhereThe river flew into Matou Hu, in whose north part there was a satellite lake, a wonderful ice-skating court It took 40mins to melt the ice in midnight Day 4 (April 23), 31km, Camping 5028mA cloudy day with gusts. From now and again, hails chased me from behind. Sunny spell. Heavy sandy land made me have to push my bike. At 3pm, I arrived at Luxing Hu, where there was a house made of clay. This was the last permanent building of my journey. Last year, Duola and Liumeng once lived in this house for three days without meeting anybody. It seemed it was the same but the truck parking in front of the house made me worry about. I went to the sheep cote first to check over, where there were only a few lambs following me everywhere I went later on. This made me feel warm in my heart. I observed farther places using my binoculars but could not see any people or sheeps. After making sure there were no people around I opened the locked door using a screwdriver. The living room was very clean. There were two boxes of beverages on the ground and a string of cured lamb legs hanging over in the interior room. A pot of water was on the top of the stove, lukewarm, which indicated the host must be not far away from his home. I filled up my water bag and left the house. I also put the screws back to the door in order not to leave any trace of my visiting. I then took a spanner from the toolbox of the truck, which gave me great help for the rest of the journey.I left the house as quickly as possible. After last year's experience, the nomadic pastoralists were the last people I wanted to meet. A few hundred meters away from the house, the vehicle traces were fading fast. Even downhill, I had to push rather than to ride because of the heavy loose sand. From the route point of view, only after Luxing Hu it was the real unpopulated land. After many days, I thought of the lamb legs from time to time. It was pity that I then had plenty of provisions and the bike was too heavy to carry anything more. Probably this road was the high plain or somewhere the wind passed so that it was so windy. The average wind speed was degree 6 but could reach degree 9 in the blick of an eye. The road was still full of sand and very heavy to walk on it. My eyes became worse under such harsh weather. About three o'clock in the afternoon, I saw something in my right, looked like antenna. I went closer to see what it was and found out it was an iron tower (the triangulation station). In 1970s, a joint team from Chinese three military regiments entered this area doing research. They have left a lot of triangulation stations and benchmarks, which I had the priviledge to see them today.At dusk, I approached to a spring by the Bungdag Co, which flew into the frozon lake. The sand and soil, brought by the strong wind, scattered on the surface of the ice all over the lake. There were so many cracks around the icey surface of the lake. I geussed it must be caused by the springs under the water rather than by melted ice. In the west of the Bungdag Co was the side path leading to Keriya Pass, where a SUV could reach directly. I had looked out any vehicle Tracks but failed. The cloudy sky started to snow. Spongy volcanic rocks could be found easily. I pushed my bike turning around a small hill, seeing a big river, the Yinshui He, flowing from Orba Co into Bungdag Co, which I had been to its upstream last year. It was also a passage for animal migration. The downstream of the river was extremely wide and broad. The thickess of the ice layer could reach one meter with the main stem in the middle course of the river, very deep. There were a few springs along the river, sweet and clear.I only went forward a little bit more than 4km but I had walked more than 20km for finding my way. It was not possible to cross the main stem, let alone the north bank of Bungdad Co. What I could only do was to try to find a shallow place to cross. But the southern area was a even larger piece of wetland and forced the road turn towards west. I spent a couple of hours but failed to find a good point to cross the river. In the afternoon, I decided to follow the edge of the wetland. When I reached the hill foot, the wetland finally disappeared. Around this area, there were clearly volcanic feature of terrain and I even found traces of pasturing and cairns made from volcanic rock.Here was the last pasturing trace I found throughout my journey, I guessed it was a summer pasture area. After this, there was no clear sign of human activities in this vast wilderness. I had been looking for my ways until it was dark. I made up my mind where to go TOMOrrow. The terrain here looked like Yardang landforms, as well as volcanic landforms The Yinshui He river from Orba CoSprings scattered all over the river bank, painted green by lovely algaeThe river was very deep. The mixture of green and amber colour showed the sand and mud carried by the melted iceThick layer of ice, sunken surface caused by strong gustsThe south course of the Yinshui He, countless small streams. To the right was the wetlandLooking for ways in the east, a trace of pasturing and the cairn made from spongy volcanic rocksMy camp, opposite to the hillDay 7 (April 26), 11km, Camping 5009mI moved forward to the direction I found yesterday, turning around the wetland and walking toward east. At 2pm, I was blocked by the zigzag Yinshui He again and I had no choice but to cross it. The river was about 700m wide, covered by ice which appeared very different. The hanging ice, the folding ice, the piling-up ice, the icy puddle, and the sleet were everywhere along the river bank. Having noticed all of these, I reckoned the river would be receding at dusk, which was why there were so many different shapes and forms of ice. I put my slipper on, going into the main stream of the river. I found there were at least three different courses of the river, the thickness of the surface ice varied and the river water reached above my knees. I sighed there would be no way back once I crossed this river. There are many ways in one's life too, you can only take it once and you will no long have the courage to repeat it.I pushed the bike crossing the river. Some of the ice was a bit soft, jamming the tyres so that I had to use my feet to break them first. Some of the ice was a bit thick but with half-melted underneath, sticking the the bike completely, some of the ice was half-water half-ice with a sandy riverbed, which was really hard to pass. I had to remove all of the panniers at the last stage of the crossing. I spent the whole four hours to cross the river, my legs got many bloody cuts. At 6pm, the surface ice was almost disappeared completely, the river level rapidly rising to a chaotic status. I thought if I hesitated a little bit at that time, I could not have the courage to cross this river under such circumstances. The river bank was unimaginably sandy and was quite steep. I had to unloaded the panniers again to reach the top of the bank. By the time of sunset, the weather became exceptionally good. The sunlight from the descending sun, the blue sky, the faint moon, .... I liked such a colorful and peaceful Chang Tang and very much enjoyed my camp and myself bathed in such beautiful colour.The ice like this was very thin and suspended, far away from the main stemHard surface with half-melted underneath, the soft sand at the botton was most scaryThe ice like this could easily jam the wheels, hard to get it outI had to unload the panniersChaotic water and terrible hails turned up in no timeThe Chang Tang at the moment liked it used to be,a mixture of cold and warm tones under the golden setting sun Day 8 (April 27), 14.6km, Camping 5112mLast night, I forgot to bring in the odometer, which was out of order due to the coldness in midnight. Since then I used GPS to check the mileage. The digital thermometer was no longer working. I had to use mercury thermometer to collect data. Night temperatures were basically between –15℃—–20℃ while the temperature inside my tent was about –10℃. The advantage of the integrated tent was that it limited the ventilation so to keep warm inside. However, it got clearly disadvantage of heavy condensation and dew. Every morning, there was plenty of frost inside the tent so that I had to put my hood on First Before fully getting dressed. The winds in Chang Tang finally became consistent with the pattern I had researched the other day no or very tiny wind in the morning, strong wind started after 2pm, and then at around 8pm its strength was reduced again. The accuracy of this prediction was about 80%.The road was very bad today. I walked whole afternoon in an ancient riverbed and it was so difficult that I had to use all of my strengths to move a small step forward and then to stop to breath, slower than a snail. After five hours' struggling, my eyes got wet when I saw the grassy river bank. Finally! The nightmare was over.Cold and clear morningHeavy morning condensation in the interior, a lot of frost to clearSuch dawning sunlight indicated a cloudy day ahead Day 9 (April 28), 18km, 5072mIn the morning I entered a range of sandy roads which were so terrible. The solar panel specially designed for GPS got short circuited. After checking it was found to be the diode got damaged. Luckily I got a replacement. Because the GPS was exclusively supplied by a solar panel so that it was no longer a problem for the power supplement of GPS. In a period of 70 days, I did replace the battery once, which saved me a lot of alkaline batteries. I did have another solar panel of 5.4 W which was used specifically for 7.5V Camera, DV and other digital facilities. Unlike water, I had never been short of power.At 7pm in the evening, I arrived at Pur Co. The surface of this lake was very odd the ice by the river bank rose and the river bank was broken, I reckoned that was due to the strong winds. The ice there was mingled with something yellow, could be the stain of alkali. There were many wild yaks on the other side of the lake. There could be two brown bears but I could not be for certain. On the east side of the lake, there was a peninsula leading to the centre of the lake. I camped just opposite to the peninsula. At night , I smashed the ice to get drinking water, which tasted alkali. For the first time I cooked the cereals, which was brought completely by accident. This was just because I found there was a little bit of extra space when I was in Nagri packing the stuff for this journey so that I bought two packs of cereals. It tasted disgusting, probably there was too much alkali in the water. I threw away half of it. Later I realised that probably I subconsciously felt that the provisions was so heavy. The wild yaks clustered into small groups. All of a sudden, there was a group of five of them running towards me, blowing a huge cloud of dust with the power of thunderbolts,I believed that anyone who did not know the characters of the wild yaks must be frightened to death under such circumstances. The fact was the wild yaks in groups never injured people. Rushing to you just to show you its territory. When they approached people at certain distance, they would turn sharply and run away, and then stopped somewhere high to stare at you. You can not imagine that the wild yaks were very cautious animals compared with its almost one ton of weight. Their first reaction, when meeting people, was to raise their tails, the front hooves rubbing against the ground, the horns pointing forward, the eyes redden, and the long body hair shaking, all of which showed their determination to fight.This was the warning sign that you should retreat. However, you should realise that this was only a gesture that they were afraid of you and wanted to scare you away. The thing was that if you were not afraid of them and moved forward, they would run away in no time. There were only some mad yaks attacking people, which was really rare to happen. In Chang Tang, an experienced driver know that it is very dangerous to pass directly from two or three lonely wild yaks. They always tried to avoid confronting them directly. If this was not possible, they would lit a cigarette, smoking, to wait until the yaks walked away themselves. This was because the wild yaks really could attack vehicles, which was not completely rumors. I once asked them why I had not been attacked. They told me that because my bike was so small they would not be bothered to attack it. My own experience was that approaching a wild yak very slowly, do not look into its eyes, and ignored what it was doing. As long as it moved forward a little bit, just stop and give the yaks a little bit of time to think. Because if you forced the yak, it could be themost dangerous animal in the world and nothing could stop them killing. Even a gunshot could not kill it but only left a small hole in its skin. In the past, the nomads living near this land would use yaks' skin as chopping board which was very much endurable. At noon, I lost my balacLAVA, which was brand new and I had never used it once. I could not be bothered to go back tofind it. This resulted in that I had to have my fleece hat day and night in the rest of my journey, which did not provide fully protection from the sun in the plateau. But somehow I was all right, perhaps because my skin is similar to those of yaks, lol. At around half past one, I found a deserted Jeep, upside down. I felt it could be there for years and it could be the vehicle of someillegal HUNTERs. Nowadays, we have wildlife conservation reserves in Chang Tang and the animals here are well protected. However, some people kills the wild yaks to sell them as the domestic yak's meat. In general, it is worth 10,000 Chinese yuans for a single wild yak. Therefore many people take the risk to make money. They often enter the unpopulated areas to hunt and their activities can reach 200 km in diameter. This is why the wild yaks in the deep wilderness are less afraid of people than thoseat the boundaries of the Chang Tang region.There once happened that a wild yak mother revenged its baby's murder in the Altun mountains. Its horns pierced the killer's chest and held his body over its head for more than ten days, which was very touching.Around 3pm, I walked out of the Pur basin. The next point was Hong Shan Daban and then it was the Yueya Hu by the Toze Gangri. At this time I found a vehicle track from south to north. I checked over but could not find the way where they had gone. I took my map, GPS, and compass, climbing up a small hill to estimate the location of Hong Shan Daban. The mountain was very round and it was hard to find the mountain pass. After determining the location of the Daban, I moved straightforward. When I passed a messy grassland, I saw something that I was reluctant to see more than hundreds of wild yaks' head scattered all over, which was definitely the scene of the illegal hunting. After that it was a very long ancient river bed with soft sand slowly rising until the foot of the mountain.There are some spines on the surface of the tongues of wild yaks, which are used by nomads in this area as combs. They use them from their teens to the time when their hair becomes silver.The deserted Jeep, could be left by illegal hunters years agoThe slaughtered wild yaks with the wheel size heads. Some of the skulls were chopped into half. Why was that? Could be taken away for making combs?My camp at the foot of the Daban underthe lingering golden rays of the setting sun. Tomorrow's weather must be wonderful, I reckoned Day 11(April 30), 20.4km, Camping 5120mThe surface of the road leading to Hong Shan Daban was very hard, most of them were small rocks, sort of gravels, plus a quite long downhill slope, I pushed my bike more than 20km for the first time after Luxing Hu. The mountain pass was quite flat, just like a broad ridge, it was 5256m above the sea level. Upon arriving at the pass, Toze Gangri of 6356m was in my sight clearly, very much round and there was no back bone like normal snow covered mountains. Most of the snow mountains in Chang Tang looked like this probably it was due to the geological movements. There were quite a few chirus or Tibetan antelopes in the valley but I was not interested in this kind of animals anymore after I witnessed a large scale of migration of such animals last year elsewhere.The herbivorous animals here are very quick to reach its original size of the population, such as wild yaks, chirus, Tibetan gazelle, pika, and marmot. When you go into the depths of the Chang Tang, you could hardly be surpised by the sudden appearance of the chirus because they are so common in here. At this time of year, the chirus have already male-female parted. You could see many pregnant female chirus but hardly see any males. According to recent research, Zonag Co is not the only lake for breeding. There are at least four of them in the whole Chang Tang. Zonag Co, Tuzi Hu, Heishi Beihu, and another lake I can not remember. I think there must be more than four of them and most of the populations do not migrant long way like most people used to think. They generally migrant from south to north between Central Mountains and Kunlun Mountains.The chirus looks very timid but are very curious about outside world. They are not really afraid of people, particularly in the depth of the Chang Tang. The nearest distance we can approach is about 30m. They just stare at you calmly and think who you are and why you move so slow. They would run in front of you. Look like they are afraid of you but the fact is they are playing with you. A man's own character shapes his fortune. This is of course suit for animals too. The chirus are the typical one. They have a super speed and a pair of sharp antlers. If they are crazy, three of them work together could easily kill a wolf. But as you might have known, their antlers are just for fighting to mate with females.Down the Daban there was a very steep and straight road, I tried to ride the bicycle but ended up with falling over. The front rack came loose and one of the pannier flew into valley. The foot of the mountain was the Yueya Hu covered by ice, which was alake full of heavy metal elements. Along the lake bank there were many stark rocks very much weathered, lining up just like castles or houses. This made me stop to investigate what they were from time to time, I did understand they were just rocks though but they were so real like the figures of real people. On of them even made me hide in a ditch, observing them again and again using my binoculars. There were also many black volcanic rocks. All in all, the features of this area were really unusual.Passed over the Yueya Hu, it was an endless ancient lake bed. What my GPS showed was this area was a big lake like tentacles. I looked around, it was endless wilderness without a piece of ice and a drop of water. Roughly, I estimated this lake bed was about 1200 square meters. I had to tell you that Chang Tang was a place where there was no high-resolution map. The marks in the map often were some kind of memory. Just like this ancient lake bed under my feet, may be it was full of water a few years ago. Who knows. Pushing the bike in such an endless lake bed was very easy to get lost. About wildlife (part 1)Declaration Personal experience for reference onlyDangerous wild animals and their threats to human beings are a ever-LASTING subject for those backpackers travelling in the wild.In Chang Tang, for example, there are two kinds of deadly animals, one is wolves and the other is brawn bears. As substitutes, wild yaks and crows might be dangerous to you in some circumstances that I will come back to this a little bit later on. As for how to protect yourself against these dangerous animals, I think the primary point is you do not try to hurt them because the emotions of human and animals are same instinctively. [Wolves]Throughout my journey, I met wolves a total of seven times, in which I confronted them five times. As you might have known that wolves have become more and more solitary animals, it is very rare they live in a large group nowadays. Please allow me off the point a little bit and talk about the ecological problems in Chang Tang. The problem is now not the decrease of the number of the chirus but the imbalance of the whole food chain, more specifically, the number of the animals on the higher trophic levels of the food chain has not yet reached its ideal level which results in this kind of imbalance. Particularly, the pikas and the marmots who have lost their predators rapidly expanse which results in the desertification of Chang Tang. As early as the middle of last century, wolves were the dominant predators in the vast wilderness. They became a threat not only to other preys but also nomads pasturing in this land. Therefore, the then government called on people to cull back the population of the wolves in Chang Tang, which resulted in the current situation directly. The last official record about wolves attacking humans was around 1970s, which happened in Bamaoqiongzong. A team of secientists was surrounded by a group of wolves and they had to shoot them using guns. Of course, at present in Chang Tang, wolves are absolutely lonely.In this traverse, the first time I encountered a pair of wolves, one of them staying in front of me pretending to attack me while the other staying behind me. This is the standard attacking strategy of wolves. First, you should not be nervous which can be easily detected by the predators. Second, you should not retreat even an inch because this means you are the prey rather than the predator. Do not make any large movement, of course you could take a picture if you feel safe to do so. You must look into its eyes for a few minutes or even half an hour. When the wolves can not work out who you are and consider you are not posing any danger to them, then they will leave. You should remember that wolves in this land do not lack of food and it is much easy for them to catch a pika than a human. Even if being hungry, they would evaluate how easy to get you done, What you need to do is to show them that you are not interested in them and you are not afraid of them at all, let alone to show your ID card to them. As for the wolves family, really, I have not heard for ages. If you really have an encounter with them and they have no other choice, then it definitely depends on your forture. In fact, for so many year, it has been very rare to happen that wolves kill human. So the bear would leave. It was so funny but the reality is to find a stick in this vast wilderness is just like you win the lottery.Bears are omonivorous animal who are generally not interested in human flesh. You can find that in most of accidents, the bears did not eat any of the human flesh rather they just smashed them for kind of fun that we could not understand. For the reason why bears kill human, one explanation is the conflict between human and wildlife in this extreme ecological environment. The nomads invade the habitats of the bears, which results in these conflicts. On the other hand, it might be because bears have quite high IQ so that they think it is much easy to kill a sheep in the cote rather than to kill a pika in the wild.I have met bears five times in my traverse, in two cases we were very close to each other. I had even walked with one of them for quite a while, just like we had a date for a walk. The fact is it is not that terrible like you might imagine. I had been chased by Tibetan dogs, pounced on by dogs in mating season, also besieged by a group of dogs. Day 12 (May 1), 23.8km, Camping 5117mToday was May 1 -- the Labour Day, I had been walking in some lake area marked in the map but clearly dried up. Since the Yueya Hu that I passed yesterday, there were no big lakes until Yanghu Co (My route would be between Jianshui Hu and Bairab Co), there was even no light alkaline water to drink so I had to pay extra attention not to miss any possible drinking water supply to fill up my water bag. There were a few very small lakes but all were alkaline puddles which was very shallow, whose depth was no more than the length of a half-finger. These puddles were covered with a hard shell of the mixture of salt and ice which smelled stinking and decaying when getting closer, must be toxic water I supposed. On the shore of this type of small lakes it was muddy soil and very hard to get closer.There was no sign of tundra at all.It was almost half past six when I found some snow corns in a ditch, which was the only drinking water supply of the day. There was a thin layer of melted ice on the surface of the ground near the snow corn, which was very hard to collect and was contaminated by the alkali. The snow corn was the yet melted thick snow, which was shaped like a corn by wind. The snow was quite hard and dry,porous like ice. I crushed a few snow corns, putting them into the water bag.They would be my drinking water tonight. These snow corns were the only one in today's wilderness, I reckoned the reason why they were not melted like others was the soil underneath contained large amount of ice blocks which acted as a freezer.Very strong gale in the night, it was hard to bear the sound of the vibration of the tent. Small single tent was good in the sense that it would not be blown away as long as you stayed inside. But you had to be very careful to set up the tent. I once did not pay much attention when doing so, the tent was blown away by winds, and rolling over like a Giant lantern ... I ran after it, got it back, and was exhausted. In general, it is not possible to fix the tent completely using tent pegs because they were not very much effective like large tents. It was snowing around 23 o'clock, the winds were howling from north,then the falling snow flakes landed on my tent quietly, I finally felt at peace and fell asleep. After lying in for a while, getting up and walking on the snowy ground out I went to have a look around. As first sight there were a herd of chirus. They were plainly to be spotted because they looked like a clear black straight line in the while snow. I returned to get my camera and then followed them to take some pictures. But they were very much alert and kept a quite long distance from me. I felt they were a group of pregnant females, instinctively protecting themselves from any potential harm. I was no longer short of water, the snow gave me a precious supply of drinking water. The problem was that they were very petrol consuming. I tool 8.6 litre of petrol and the oil stove was Duola's MSR. The pot was of 1.5 litre, mainly for boiling water. After several days' experiments, I found that the liquid water needed 16mins and 14-15mins to boil in the morning and evening, respectively. For ice, it would take 35-40mins while for snow it took 45-50mins. Melting snow was a very time and petrol consuming process so if I had a choice between snow and light alkaline water, most of time I would go with the latter. Lying inside the tent, listening to musics,I smoked a cigarette while gazing at the more and more chirus around me. Because it was very cold I had been wearing my shoes all the time. Now I just put my bare feet under the warm sun for some fresh air. I found three cuts in my hands and one in my sole. The cuts were about 4cm in length, looked terrible but it was actually all right really. Half of my toes were injured by to much walking, quite painful. I fetched my medicine bag and found I only got four patches of plasters, a serious mistake. One of the cuts in my hand had never been cured until I was out of this desolate land so as to feel like this finger would drop from my hand at any time. The others quickly recovered in a few days then new cuts appeared elsewhere. This process occurred periodically. I felt that it was somewhat related to the cold, dry weather and the lack of vitamins. The snow rapidly disappeared, which is unique phenomenon in Chang Tang. Because of the low air humidity and the high radiation from the sun, the snow was evaporating very fast, much quicker than the melting speed. Owing to this, the ground was generally still dry after the snow disappeared. In most cases, it would be only 2/5 left in the afternoon around 2 to 3 o'clock and small patches of ground could be seen. It would be completely all right for walking the next day. On the third day there could be some snow left in somewhere the sunlight hard to reach. So generally it could give you three days of water supply after a heavy snow like this. One of the pannier was broken, the most expensive one from deuter series, supposed to be waterproof. I will come back to it at some point later.
