2011年的6月6日,正值传统的端午节,友人的西部助学计划让我又一次走进西部。徐州—武威,这条铁路线已经走了N次,从06年暑假起,我就与西部结了缘,而这次的西行其意义不同于以往的旅行,当再次踏上西去的列车时,我的心有些不平静,列车一直往西,人在车上,而心已远去。。。 5月,接到影友文心电话,说有个企业家想到西部助学,问我是否能帮忙联系一个地方。听到此消息后我非常高兴,几年的西部行走让我对西部的生存状况与教育状况有了大概的了解,生存环境的恶劣及生活的贫困,使得西部的孩子们在教育上有很大的缺失,有企业家愿意为西部的教育投资,这是件天大的好事,友人又是个教育专家,教育家与企业家在教育上携手,堪称天作之合。我二话不说,当即答应友人帮他联系地点,作为一个在教育行业就职的旅者,这件事责无旁贷。遂按照企业家的要求帮忙联系助学地点,最终初步定在甘肃天祝藏族自治县。于是,在一个六六大顺的日子里,为了一个共同的目和心愿,启程前往天祝。 二十四小时的长途旅行,我们一行4人于6月7日下午230到达了武威。天祝县副县长与教育局得知此消息后,非常高兴,亲自到车站迎接,原计划下车后租车直达考察学校的计划彻底给打乱了,这份盛情让我们一行四人颇感意外,同时又非常感动,八字还没一撇,则受到如此接待,我们何以担当啊。 既然县上已经安排,恭敬不如从命,遂坐上副县长的车驱车直奔考察学校。 甘肃我曾经多次路过,去年十一长假期间,我和朋友也曾专程去张掖看丹霞。虽然甘肃是个严重缺水的省份,但那里的地貌却让这个干旱的省份有着非常壮美的风景。 天祝藏族自治县位于甘肃省武威市东南部。境内兰新铁路、312国道纵贯南北。山脉与交通线交汇的乌鞘岭是地扼东西的通道,势控河西的咽喉,地势险要,素有“河西走廊门户”之称。 全县辖域面积7149平方公里,居住着藏、土、汉等16个民族,共22.14万人。境内群山环抱,峰峦叠嶂,有郁郁葱葱的苍茫林海,终年积雪的雪山大川和碧草如茵的广阔草原及大小10多条河流。海拔最高4874米,最低2050米,属大陆性高原气候,空气清新,环境优美,素有“高原金盆”之称。 虽然我走过我国的五大藏区,甘肃甘南藏区之前我走过二次,而这个天祝藏区我还是第一次来过。 原以为这里只有黄沙与山丘,没想到车到深山,眼前居然出现了这么一大片碧绿的湖水,这让我很兴奋,随即要求师傅停车,下车拍照。 这是天祝县的一个人工水库,由于这里严重缺水,天祝县及周边县则利用地势修建了一些这样的蓄水库,当地民众也就靠着这些水库维持生存。 从水库的蓄水量上看,今年是个严重干旱年,水库的水位明显在降低。 边缘许多地方早已干涸,可以看出这点蓄水量远远满足不了当地民众的用水需求,非常明显,缺水是当地农业发展的最大“瓶颈”。 也正是因为了解这个情况,所以当看到这个水库时我才异常兴奋的让师傅停了车,水是生命之源,有了水,才能有发展的可能,而西部贫困的主要原因是因为环境的影响所造成的。 沿着进山的路,车行两个多小时后,我们到达了要考察的学校——天祝旦马乡初级中学。 学校提前得知了消息,车到了学校门口,校长和老师们全部来到校门口迎接,县长按照藏族的礼仪亲自给我们献上了哈达,而且是上面绘着藏地佛教八宝图的黄色哈达。一般情况下给客人献上的是白色哈达,而这种黄色的带有佛教八宝图的哈达只在寺庙里用,当县长把这条哈达搭在我的胸前时,我感动的不知说什么才好,因为我知道这条哈达的含义与“分量”。一个普通的旅者,何德何能,能接受这样的哈达。 走进校门后,友人、企业家及杨树林助学创办者就由县长、教育局分管资助的主任及学校校长等陪同参观校舍。而我则“自作主张”的在校园里用相机进行“走访”。作为一个旅者、一个影者,用相机记录行走中的所见、所闻、所感、所悟是我的行摄“目”。能有机会走进这边远藏区的学校,对我来说是个非常难得的机会,我要利用每个机会记录下每个地方带给我的所见所闻。 旦马学校位于一个四面环山的小小盆地里,四面都被山所包围,只有一条出山的路通往武威和天祝县城。学校的校舍大多数是平房,而且有新有旧,由此看出,这所学校的建设也是在不断的发展之中。虽然学校处在深山里,还是建设了高大的教学楼。在西部山区,一看到红砖房、楼房和飘扬的五星红旗,多半就是学校了,校舍建设在西部山区还是比较重视的。从校园及校舍上看,旦马学校还是比较有规模的一个学校。 学校的“基础硬件”设施在西部算是很不错的。旦马学校校园给我印象最深的是教学楼上那十个大字:人人能发展,个个有希望。孩子就如小小树苗,个个都是可塑之才,成才与否不在于孩子,而在于教育。教育工作者能有此理念,孩子们就有希望了。 由于这里是牧区,山里的牧民住的十分分散,孩子们读书都离家比较远,没法走读,有的孩子周末回家需要走三个小时的山路才能到家,因此基本上孩子从读小学起就住校,因此,这里的小学也有宿舍。一般情况下,条件较差的学校两个孩子一张床,有的学校三个孩子一张床。正是由于在这样的状况下读书,孩子们的自理能力都很强,日常生活基本全由自己打理,当然,在山里学校做老师的,在教学的同时还要照管孩子们的日常起居,既是老师,又是家长,这就是西部山区学校的“特点”。 这些是小学二年级的孩子们,旦马学校原本小学和初中是分开的,由于小学校舍建在山脚下,近来山体出现了滑坡,校舍成了危房,学校紧急决定将小学的孩子们集中到了中学的教学楼里,宿舍不够,便将孩子们的教室与宿舍合二为一,于是,孩子们学习和生活的场所便集中在了这里。从床上的铺盖看,这间房里的孩子是每一张双层床上住6个孩子。虽然条件不太好,可孩子们能在这里安心读书,他们还是非常非常的高兴。 即使这样,学校的宿舍还是不够用,学校便临时将学生餐厅腾出来做了宿舍,不管用什么办法,总要解决孩子们的生活问。细心的驴友们可以注意到,就是这样,这间房里也是4个孩子睡一张双层床。 这是学校的食堂,阿姨正在为孩子们准备晚餐。厨房一角,从这里可以看出,尽管处在山区,学校食堂的卫生状况还是不错的。 食堂的用具基本都是不锈钢的,食堂里有两个师傅在工作,一个在切菜,一个在用机器压面。原以为藏地的学校不太注意卫生,从这里看,卫生状况还真的不算差,这点让人感到欣慰。看过食堂,我又回到了教学楼,想看看孩子们的教室和学习环境。从教室内的环境看,学校的校舍是新建的教学楼,而桌凳还是用的以前的,说明这个教学楼新建不久。 中小学的紧急合并让这所学校的教室也陡然紧张起来,教师们便将办公室腾出来给孩子们做了教室,虽然有点挤,但至少能保证让孩子们正常上课了。 看到孩子们能在这样的教室里上课,作为一个曾经生长在乡下的我,心里真的挺高兴的,比我当年读书的学校条件要好多了,当然这之间有了40多年的时间差。([]

♥;写在前面的话♥爱是一场风花雪月的追逐爱是直到天荒地老的奔跑世界太大我们很小唯愿至此启程,心手相连,踏遍天崖,走到海角……回来后,始终有一段话萦绕在我脑海中,难以飘散——沉醉巴厘岛,情迷印度洋。一花一世界,步步是天堂。大家好,自由行菜鸟先向各位前辈、各位看官鞠一躬!这是我和老公第一次手牵手走出国门!我之前只有一次自由行韩国首尔的经历,而老公简直就是这方面的小白。出行前我做了很多功课,终于给自己制造了一次完美的蜜月,完美的旅程。这篇文章,重游记、轻攻略,但若仔细阅读,一定能发现我带给大家小建议及各种tips。这篇文章,重图片、轻文字,请各位把它看做是一个感性的女子,对于一次旅游感性但真实的记录。作为一个入门级摄影爱好者,这次旅行照了好几百张图片,希望邀大家共赏!欢迎各位指导、观摩、提问……谢谢!===大片预告===蓝梦岛coconuts酒店的无边泳池巴厘岛醉美夕阳一花一世界步步是天堂 印度洋的壮阔海景难忘碧海蓝天好吧,新人携夫婿露脸,欢迎各种拍砖。(*^__^*) 嘻嘻……===大片预告部分结束,正文即将开始=== 出行前我们还真的是准备了大半年的时间啊!从完全不懂这世上还有廉价航空开始……囧~~~到慌里慌张的亚航抢票(由于慌里慌张,搞到最后还要改出行时间,于是承担了亚航高额的改费,悲勒个催!!!)踏遍了各大旅游论坛,吸取了N多前辈的成功经验和精华!甚至很多行程都是直接照搬前辈的。所以我们自认为我们的行程还是非常合理的。巴厘岛必去的区域这次我们都走到了。10天行程虽编排得满满当当,但一点都不累,松紧适度。前4天主要是跑景点,后6天悠闲轻松泡villa~~~乌布、lovina、kuta、uluwatu、蓝梦岛、nusadua~~~我们的行迹遍布了巴厘岛6大区,真是一次充实的旅行!利用网上的一张巴厘岛主要景点地图,画出了我们的路线!按照不同的彩色笔墨,再配合地图下面的文字,我们的每日行程就清晰可见啦~~~! 一说到巴厘岛,大家都会想到这是一个浪漫的地方。适合恋人牵手旅行,适合新婚夫妇共享蜜月……网上总是流传这一个说法——巴厘岛是一流的酒店、二流的海滩、三流的景点。1、对于海滩,我觉得巴厘岛确实不算很灵(蓝梦岛的dream beach除外,嘿嘿)2、至于景点,在我个人的理解下是有争议的,巴厘岛有很多人文的、历史的东西,需要沉下心来慢慢品味,虽然相比我国的历史景观相对渺小,但却有着独特的浓郁的巴厘味道!3、说到酒店!巴厘岛就确实很赞啦!我们全程住了6个酒店,有300多元一晚的经济型酒店,也有好几千两晚的私人villa,都相当的舒服!而且若不是蜜月,真的很推荐大家在巴厘岛多发掘几百块一晚的酒店呢,性价比超级高,而且一点不逊于那些奢华酒店!那么就从订酒店开始吧。我们全程一共选择的6个酒店,有冷门的,也有极其热门的。事后发现,其实真的冷门的更好。嘻嘻。因为事前没在别人的攻略或游记中看过图片,到了实地以后会有更多惊喜!首先说一下入住酒店的总体情况:9月4日-6日,乌布pertiwi 酒店deLUXE room 2晚9月6日,lovina nuguraha酒店1晚9月7日,kuta oASIs酒店1晚9月8日-10日,kuta villa de daun 叶子别墅2晚 (蜜月套餐) 9月10日,蓝梦岛coconuts酒店1晚9月11日-13日,nusadua kayumanis 肉桂别墅2晚 (蜜月套餐)出行前比较了最著名的两个订房网站booking和agoda!也学习到了一些。booking是预定后不需要付款,到了酒店后再用当地货币现场支付。agoda是预定后即扣款,现在不是只有信用卡的结算方式了,用支付宝结算更划算。两个网站的特价房都是预定后不能取消。价格嘛,反正我查过的房价加上税和服务费后都是booking稍便宜,但我不敢说一定!但是对于我们来说有一个问。因为是蜜月,所以在叶子别墅和肉桂别墅的那两晚,我们都想预订蜜月套餐(就是包含烛光晚餐啊、spa啊、铺满花瓣的私人泳池啊这一类“肉麻”的蜜月项目,我研究了半天,发现两个订房网站都不包含这些项目)所以我们最终还是选择了旅游代理为我们订房,房价会比订房网站更便宜,还能拿到很多benefit !我选择的中文代理是vivian。vivian家都可以通过QQ在线即时联系,也可以电话中文联系,非常方便。有需要代理联系方式的童鞋,可以跟帖回复索要哈~~~ 关于证我们此行是从成都出发,经吉隆坡转机抵达巴厘岛。亚航。成都-吉隆坡。因为要到马来西亚转机,所以涉及到马来西亚证,出行前做了大量攻略+自己亲身体验=120小时的免费过境意思就是:只要你从马来入境算起,120小时内会离开马来境内前往第三国,就只需到了机场后免费的过境即可吉隆坡-巴厘岛。巴厘岛是落地。所以只需准备:1、有效期在6个月内的护照2、回程机票3、在巴厘岛登帕萨机场购买25美金的落地费,获得单据即可这个部分,在接下来的游记中,会有详细图解!!!旅行装备1、出境游保险 国外和我国不一样,对本国居民几乎是医疗免费、义务医疗,但若游客在那里有个小病小灾的,或许都要支付高额医疗费。 所以出境游保险最好还是备一份。 具体的保险种类,这个确实太多了,未避免广告嫌疑,大家选择适合自己的就好。2、转换插头+接线板 按照别人的攻略,出行前我们就准备好转换插头+接线板。就单看我们的行程,涉及到的两个国家马来西亚和印尼就使用不同的插座插头,所以转换头必不可少,现在电子设备又多,再带个适合自己的接线板,就不怕充电烦恼啦。3、防晒霜+晒后修复 左边第一瓶粉色的是网络大热——水宝宝!我买的是无油无泪配方,我觉得真的不油呢!(我可是大油田哦!)朋友6月去柬埔寨用的水宝宝一小管的那种,她说那种很油!大家各自斟酌吧。 中间绿色的是香蕉船晒后修复,是芦荟精华来的。真心好用!在巴厘岛期间我和LG争相涂抹~~~被强烈阳光晒后皮肤先会起小颗粒,然后痒痒的,这时就赶紧抹这个,不要让皮肤发展到变红甚至脱皮的状态。总之这次出行,我们只是晒黑,真的完全没有晒伤! 最后金黄色那个就是大名鼎鼎的安耐晒金瓶!小贵!但是上脸的东西总想用精细一点!日系产品真的是无油,涂上去很清爽,我大油田肌,涂了这个还能再抹BB霜呢! 4、防晒衫 以前真心不了解这个用途,只觉得淘宝上一抓一大把,20-30块钱一件。直到出发前我一个闺蜜告诉我一定要买它,闺蜜刚从韩国留学回来,在韩国期间经常去海边浴场,她说人家都穿这个直接下海,她也穿,皮肤一样会被晒黑,但是不会晒伤! 一听到不会晒伤!我肯定就买了!于是为了拍照需要,我一次买了4件:玫红、荧光黄、橘色、白色。 这衣服的确强大!浮潜时直接穿着它下海,没有晒伤,和我们一起去的老外都晒得通红!上岸后一接触阳光没一会儿就干了!大爱!后来几天,我老公连T恤都不穿了,直接沙滩短裤配防晒衣,又潮又舒适又防晒! 5、水下相机 最后一件就是水下相机啦。我是在TB上租了一台。第一次使用,第一次浮潜,体会到了海底世界的美妙哦!嘻嘻! 带着水下相机出行海岛真的是乐趣多多。 泳池里可以照,浮潜时可以照。懒得拿单反时还能救个急!超多照片接下里的游记中一一奉上! 9月3日晚2130左右,我和LG抵达双流国际机场1号航站楼(现在1号只有川航和国际航线了),人还是蛮多的。因为出发前一周我才去了首尔,深深认识到成都人民对于出国旅游的热情,所以我们特意提前了很多到机场。 由于一周前才从这里出境,所以比较轻车熟路,拿着网上打印好的亚航登机牌,去柜台托运了行李后带着LG第一个冲到出关的地方。 由于我护照上有韩国证,所所以成都边检那个GG看了啥都没说就放行了,LG是白本出境,照例被拦下来多问了几个问。 我们的经验是:成都护照白本出境前往落地国家是完全没有问的哈,只需要提供你前往国家的机票就可以了,边检甚至没要求我们出示返程机票(我们准备了)和酒店订单。童鞋们放心出境吧。 9月3日2350,亚航红飞机准时起飞,9月4日4:30,准时降落吉隆坡LCCT廉价机场,一下飞机,顿时感觉真的是——廉价机场啊!一周前才去过韩国仁川机场,这差别确实太大了,LG说这个机场好像个工厂哦。不过廉价嘛,人家亚航的营销手段是很高明的。 下了飞机后就跟着大部队走,进了机场大厅直接上自动扶梯。上了二楼后,有马来证的朋友直接右转,一长排出境的柜台直接去出境就可以了。办理过境的朋友就看下图哈!!!!上了航站楼二楼后直走看左边,1分钟内就能看到!直接把护照和下一程机票递给过境窗口就是了,然后等着喊名字! 喊到名字的童鞋,拿回护照和机票什么的,转身往后走,后面是一排出口,从最左侧的出口出,把护照再给官员检查一下就可以出去了。(这段话有点儿绕,主要是当时忘了拍照,但仔细读读一定能体会的) 但这里有个问哈。第一次9月4日到达时是凌晨,就没有人要求我们填写马来西亚入境卡,但出境准备前往巴厘岛时,海关貌似问了我们为什么没有入境卡的存根,但当时我还没习惯马来英语确实听不懂,连问了几个“what”,他也无奈就放行了。 第二次9月13日是晚上抵达的,办理过境时就让我们填了入境卡的,然后把存根给了我们,第二天出境回成都时边检就收了我们的存根哈。看到有攻略说是在飞机上就要发放的,如果有朋友去的话,可以在飞机上就问问空姐、空少(有会中文的),该填的东西还是要填好,避免不必要的麻烦哈! 可以确定的是,去和回都没要求我们按指纹。 比较了吉隆坡LCCT机场和巴厘岛登帕萨机场。 LCCT的工作人员明显有素质的多!东南亚人民确实看起来就不那么“面善”有点凶的感觉,但是LCCT的工作人员你真的可以放心大胆地问他问,会热心给你指点的,不会像巴厘岛登帕萨机场,那些工作人员一副没见过钱的样子,总是找中国人索要小费,强烈BS!!! 走出机场后,看见的第一个店家就是网络大热的“OLDTOWN WHITE COFFE”(老街场白咖啡),因为要等几个小时才会继续飞,所以我们也选择在这里落脚,点了一份鹅肉粉,一份咖喱粉,一杯冰咖啡,一杯冰红茶,共计人民币70元的样子吧,在机场这个消费还是可以的,就是味道……我LG说我出了川系菜品其他的都吃不惯,所以走到东南亚我觉得就没有好吃的东西……咖喱味受不了的受不了啊 9月4日9时许,继续登机前往巴厘岛。 这是我们乘坐的红飞机!廉价机场,都是自己走着去登机的,哈哈! 9月4日1210分,飞机提前降落巴厘岛,本来还窃喜提前了,结果在跑道上滑都滑行了20分钟,真是1230准点到达啊!!!超佩服亚航的有木有。 一下飞机我又兴奋了!建在海边的机场耶!好美! 可惜单反没电了,我恨!于是水下相机+手机一阵乱拍!巴厘岛是落地!到了登帕萨机场后要做的第一件事就是跟着大部队去办理落地! 做了一个图,这样子一目了然了! 购买落地最好用美元现金,去中国银行可以换到!为什么说最好不要涉及刷卡、找钱等问呢!因为登帕萨机场的印尼工作人员就跟几辈子没见过钱一样,一看到自由行的中国人出现,就会想到小费!!!关于机场海关索要小费的问! 今年6月我朋友去柬埔寨时也碰到海关索要小费,她直接装听不懂,僵持了一下,放行了。但据说巴厘岛这边已经很嚣张了,直接用中文给你说“人民币”!如果在登帕萨机场被海关索要小费,先装听不懂,实在不行就给他,然后记住他的工牌,出来后和接机的工作人员碰头后,由他们的工作人员带着你去投诉!一定要投诉到底的! 如果大多数人英文都没好到可以直接和他理论的地部,所以先服软再投诉应该是个不错的方法!总之不要因为这些事影响旅行心情吧,毕竟也不是针对你一个中国人,是对大多数中国人都这样!哎,强烈呼唤国富力强啊!!!关于机场照相的问! 额!这个问!在登帕萨机场,能不照相还是别照了吧。如果被登帕萨机场的工作人员发现你照相,而你又确实照到了一些关键的示、建筑或者工作人员,那就会被罚款。走到别人的地界,英文又不是特别好,还真是纠结不清啊,于是所谓“罚款”、“小费”的傻傻分不清,也就只能“乖乖”认栽!曾经看到有人说过,登帕萨机场有专门抓人照相的人,会记录下来,过关时找你麻烦,所以大家,小心谨慎为妙!关于护照上落地盖章的问! 出了机场就看见我们订的接机工作人员,他把我们在巴厘岛10天的所有订单都交给了我们。然后他赶紧让我拿护照本给他看,开始还不懂什么事,原来是登帕萨海关经常故意少给你盖章,等你出境的时候就会出问,然后又是一大堆麻烦事,大家都懂了吧?!真是强烈BS!!护照本和出境卡存根上会分别盖章!大家一定要检查清楚。关于巴厘岛出境的问! 一定要妥善保管自己的出境卡存根,出境时要交给海关的。我们出境时就看见有老外弄掉了存根,然后就开始和海关漫长的纠结…… 还有一定要准备好每人150000印尼盾的现金,是出境费用,一定要是印尼盾现金!不然到时候在机场换汇汇率很糟糕! 出机场后,我们就看到了接机的老陈,和我们的司机gede~~~很幸运的是,未来几天的包车行程中我们都不需要更换司机,会一直由gede为我们服务!!!在几天的游览中,我们也和他建立了不错的感情,大家相处非常愉快! 9月4日下午1630,司机gede大叔带我们来到了乌布。 刚去了首尔自由行回来,初到巴厘岛,我承认我确实被shock到了!街道破旧而狭小,交通一片混乱,满街乱窜的摩托车,这是传说中的天堂吗?! 不过各国国情不同,很快也就适应了! 我们入住的第一个酒店在乌布,名叫pertiwi resort & spa。是一家鲜有人提及的酒店。但是入住后我们感觉真的非常好!就像置身在一个热带雨林花园中,每一步都是景色,光是光酒店都能走上好一阵!一到这里,LG就说,度假的感觉来啦! 由于我们到的晚~~~享受到了第一个福利,upgrade!房型被升级了。后来才发现,房间升级一般都是你订的房型已经被住完了,所以想升级的话,晚到酒店才大有希望哦!而且到了酒店后,不妨向前台多问一句是否可以升级,说不定会有意外惊喜!这就是peitiwi酒店的门牌。 小小的非常低调。 在巴厘,即时是超级奢华的酒店,门牌、大门什么的也都很小巧、低调~~~这是酒店的大厅。 呵呵,真心低调的有木有,但很有巴厘岛的味道!巴厘岛的各种石雕都让人爱到不行 爱死了这样的配色,非常有巴厘岛的感觉! 我们是9月4日-13日待在巴厘岛的,好像刚好遇到了学生开学后的一个小淡季,整个行程中住了6个酒店,都没有什么人,除了热门景点海神庙和百度库遇到了大批游客,其余时间大多都是我们两个自己玩。全程10天也只碰到3对中国夫妇(情侣)。这种自由行的感觉,真的很棒!就拿我们入住的第一个酒店pertiwi来说,入住的那两天,整个酒店就我们两个中国人,连亚洲面孔都没有碰到。酒店本身就像一个花园一样……如果有时间,一定要两个人坐在这里静谧地享受时光老公到了这样的环境中,一下子就放松下来,像个孩子,玩得非常开心!!!当然,在热带雨林中,我也很开心哟学一学这个石雕的动作!!! 下午1600,ratu spa的接送车准时来酒店大堂接我们。 ratu spa在乌布很有名,"ratu"在印尼语中是“女王”的意思,做这样的spa是指女王般的享受吗?ratu spa建在稻田边,房间窗外就能看到稻田,别有一番风味。 PS:ratu spa是出发前就在代理那里定好了,代理已经帮我们预订了接送的时间。所以它会直接在酒店等我们。到了做spa那里,自己只需要选择一下精油就可以了。房间内部结构,古香古色的巴里岛风情。选精油的瓶子很可爱!spa结束后还可以在右上那幅图中的三角浴缸里泡花瓣浴+品尝姜茶! 9月4日晚1900左右,做完ratu spa后,我们在wayan咖啡馆享用了到达巴厘岛的第一顿晚餐。 按照攻略点了一份印尼综合饭,店家推荐了一份沙爹鸡肉串饭,两杯西瓜汁和一份网络大热的死神蛋糕(death cake with chocolate)。合计人民币120元。由于还是处于单反无电状态,所以只有用手机拍拍食物,没办法拍出用餐环境。这个餐厅很有乌布味道,小桥流水、植物茂密,各种凉亭设置在花草树木间,静谧和谐。 巴厘岛的所有果汁都是鲜榨的。你点完后甚至会听到榨果汁的声音,让你感觉特别原汁原味。我们去巴厘的时期已经错过了当地水果最好的时节(5月-8月),所以酷爱水果的我俩没能一饱口福,可选择面非常少,芒果已经下市了,基本只能选择西瓜、橙汁、柠檬汁、百香果、混合果汁……所以在巴厘的10天里,西瓜汁成为我俩的大爱!(无论是餐厅还是小店,果汁都是折合人民币15-20元左右一杯)餐桌上很巴厘岛风味的小摆件~~~印尼综合炒饭旁边的配菜很丰盛 味道也还不错哦沙爹肉串饭~~~ 这种沙爹肉串是我在巴厘岛期间相对来说比较喜欢的食物,有点烧烤味,偏甜 但这份饭性价比不如综合炒饭高呢,综合烧饭的配菜丰富很多([]
行程&超级传送门:Day1.海口市,文昌市,东郊椰林很多椰树的海滩滩,超漂亮免费的景区值得一去。13楼:https//bbs.8264.com/thread-1625270-2-1.htmlDay2.琼海市,万宁市,日月湾。日月湾感觉就像迷你的亚龙湾,海水沙滩也超漂亮。环境非常给力游客也少,日月湾还有免费的露营地和淡水自驾必去之地。22楼:https//bbs.8264.com/thread-1625270-3-1.htmlDay3.日月湾闲逛,三亚亚龙湾。32楼:https//bbs.8264.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=1625270&page=4&extra=#pid26975841Day4.三亚南山佛教文化风景区,真的很大逛完一定要有毅力。45楼:https//bbs.8264.com/thread-1625270-5-1.htmlDay5.蜈支洲岛,美得难以言语。62楼:https//bbs.8264.com/thread-1625270-7-1.htmlDay6.大东海,三亚湾。虽说是免费景区,但是魅力不减。81楼:https//bbs.8264.com/thread-1625270-9-1.htmlDay7.海口购物,然后启程回家。97楼:https//bbs.8264.com/thread-1625270-10-1.html阳光,蓝海,沙滩,椰林不是夏天胜似夏天的温度冬日里盛夏的体验 海南就在这里 从广西去海南除了骑行外自驾是费用第二低但性价比最高的自助游方式了~这个之前有好好算过的说,此次全程油费总共花费1200R,由于初九才回来高速收了250的过路费,然后洗车50R。然后就是在徐闻港乘坐轮渡过海了,一车一司机过海费用为422R,单人过海费用为42.5R。5人一车总的算来回轮渡费用就是1184R。因此总的交通费用是2684R,每人536.8R。如果是火车的话从我们这到海南12个小时的硬卧最便宜237R,光来回就474R了。还没算海口到三亚的动车费100R和各种去景点的车费。因此不想玩得太累,自助海南的首选方式是当然是自驾行了。当然地区不同里程也不同,这又另当别论了 春假又到来,屌丝的世界观这次把目定在了温暖的海南,经历了南方低温湿冷的天气屌丝的出行欲望只有四季温暖的地方了。于是乎就带着姐姐和几个朋友一起开始了海南的穷游之旅。 话说海南是我大天朝冬季出游圣地,衣食住行各种天价各种贵!人山人海除了温暖的气候我想没人会有欲望想来被宰。呵呵屌丝嘛技术宅拯救世界的说,宅家做好攻略照样低消费玩得开开心心。自驾穷游嘛,预算不多1500R。说多不多,说少也不少,呵呵各位看官慢慢品评好了。 这次出行是我计划的,自驾去海南玩七天。初二晚上走初九晚上到家,一共七天全程自驾。住宿是露营+住店混合进行,毕竟海南的海滩确实很美不睡睡实在浪费了。先来看看实际预算好了: 首先是交通费用,出发地柳州到湛江徐闻渡口坐轮渡是700公里海口市到三亚是300公里。粗略算算来回为2000公里,这次开的是朋友的英朗。全程油费总共花费1200R,由于初九才回来高速收了250的过路费,然后洗车50元。提醒下需要自驾海南的朋友,海南的所有高速都不设收费站。过路费全部都算在油钱里,因此在海南加油93号纯汽油要在8.5R/升。穷游省钱的话就需要在湛江徐闻港先把邮箱加满了,海南逛一圈600公里左右期间我们只在海南加了300R的93号。然后就是在徐闻港乘坐轮渡过海了,一车一司机过海费用为422,单人过海费用为42.5。5人一车总的算来回轮渡费用就是1184R。因此总的交通费用是2684R,每人536.8R。 然后就是住宿费用了,第一天在文昌市东郊椰林露营无费用,第二天在日月湾露营无费用,第三第四天在三亚公共露营区露营每车每天100R管理费总共200R期间去商务酒店开了钟点房洗澡去了80R。第五第六天过了黄金假期酒店恢复正常价格都是120左右的间,住了两日的间总共500R。因此总共住宿花费为780R,人均156R。 最后是吃了,吃货门怎么能少呢?由于去的大多是景区午饭都是干粮饮料7天吃饭费用每人大概就500,很平价。 还有门票,话说海南比较有名的景区都是海滩去一个就行。这次我们去了两个景区,一个是南山佛教文化风景区门票学生价78R,第二个是蜈支洲岛门票学生价143R。所以每人门票支出共221R。 因此这次出行实际总费用为:536.8+156+500+221=1413.8。忍不住买些小吃什么的1500绰绰有余。当然购物费用另算了~ 还有建议下自驾的朋友,最好选辆空间大的座驾皮卡最合适。因为要去的几个偏僻的景点露营,打算自己解决伙食。于是乎带了全套的露营装备,光合理打包装车都花了两个小时。最最主要的是塞得真心太满,最后买特产的时候都没地方放了。一路抱回来的我会乱说么? 先介绍下我们的队伍,左起軒老板,我,花老师,姐姐微粒。看着这还有人穿着羽绒服的说,过了海就得一路脱了。 下面这个略显闷骚的是我们的司机兼摄影蓝老板,一路各种美照各种拍拉风的说。 姐姐很漂亮哦,绝对是为玩痴狂的那一型。爱自由、爱生活、不爱呆在家里;爱疯狂、爱旅行、更爱出远门。当然被拍照也是姐姐的人生一大乐事的说,下面先晒晒我们此次穷游中姐姐拍的美美照之后再开始一起走进你不知道的海南。 高清无码大图,拒绝PS!大家慢慢欣赏吧~ Day1:海口市,文昌市,东郊椰林。 大年初三早上8点到的湛江海安新港,过年略早了到了徐闻县都没见什么小吃摊早餐店。于是乎直接进港排队买票,等轮渡过海。早餐就随身携带的干粮饮料好了。还有给大家个建议,在海南的所有高速都不设收费站。过路费全部都算在油钱里,因此在海南加油93号纯汽油要在8.5R/升。穷游省钱的话就需要在湛江徐闻港先把邮箱加满了,海南逛一圈600公里左右期间我们只在海南加了300R的93号。然后就是在海安新港乘坐轮渡过海了,一车一司机过海费用为422,单人过海费用为42.5。5人一车总的算来回轮渡费用就是1184R。此次的座驾,朋友的英朗。车内空间挺大的,坐得也很舒服。唯一的缺点就是后备箱略小了~或许是带的东西太多了吧 我们上的这艘轮渡好大的说,车子往里面塞满了才开船。9点上的船,一直到10点20才开。本来计划11点到海口的,最后差不多一点钟才下船。下次大家需要自驾海南的话建议选小一点的轮渡上,第一车子上下方便,第二所有轮渡都是塞满才开因此小轮渡开船快不用等太久。 差不多下午一点钟到的海口市,话说海口的绿化挺不错的。马路两旁人行道处处都是椰树,不过种这么多不怕椰子熟了掉下来砸坏车子砸伤人么? 早上就随便吃了点干粮现在都过中午了,好饿的说。都说海南消费高,节假宰人狠。这个只能说是以前三亚的情况,现在整治好了消费也正常了很多。为了方便快捷就在海口市内进了家湘菜馆,东西实惠好味吃得很饱。五个菜加上米饭和茶也就134R,真心比我们这的消费都平价。因此在海南只要找对了地方吃饭,吃花不了多少钱。 午饭过后,马不停蹄马上赶往文昌市。文昌距离海口80多公里,告诉很快就到了。为了去今晚的露营地东郊椰林,我们在椰林里找了很久才穿出海滩。此时已经是下午5点了。夕阳无限好只是近黄昏吖,天马上要黑了于是逛了逛海滩不得不出去找吃的然后原路返回扎营。这里算是东郊镇比较偏僻的海滩了,沙滩的沙子非常细腻很白非常洁净很美。 逛着逛着居然迷了路,杯具。不过此时看到路边有个大哥正在砍椰子,嘴馋问了价钱,但大哥说:你下车送你吃!结果不仅喝了椰汁热情的东郊大哥一家还免费招待了我们一餐“家常便饭”。 于是今晚就在这扎营了,除了吃饭东郊大哥还请我们洗澡,呵呵盛情难却的说。 丰盛至极的“家常便饭”,文昌鸡,咸水鸭,基围虾,香螺,海鱼,入口即化的东坡肉等等。吃得我们都不好意思了,大过年的打扰人家。 饭后孩子们开始放烟火,烟花,年味十足的东郊。大哥一家真的很热情,饭后还陪我们喝茶聊天。介绍海南好吃好玩的,各种欢乐各种开心。第二天临走时实在不好意思就打了红包给大哥家的孩子,但是大哥相当豪爽就是不肯收。看来海南的民风还是非常的淳朴的,最后要了大哥的联系方式年后准备给他邮递些广西的特产以作回报。 夜幕降临,没有了百白日的燥热东郊的夜晚有点凉意。晚上逛逛海滩,别有一番情调。 我们的营地,为了洗漱方便大哥执意让我们把营扎在门前的沙滩上。盛情难却打扰了。 Day2:琼海市,万宁市,日月湾。日月湾感觉就像迷你的亚龙湾,海水沙滩也超漂亮。环境非常给力游客也少,日月湾还有免费的露营地和淡水自驾游圣地的说。 本来想去看日出的可惜天空不作美黑云压城,于是乎又继续休息8点才开始拔营。之后整理物品和大哥一家别过便匆匆赶往更大更漂亮的东郊椰林海滩。 很大一片椰林,免费的海滩,免费的椰亭和沙滩椅。可惜没有阳光,不然这将是美得难以言语的地方。在这个地方发呆也是一种享受~漂亮的地方,非常适合爱拍和爱被拍的朋友粒粒姐各种poss各种换,拍~拍~拍~ 逛完海滩准备出椰林到镇上觅食,海南的早餐很简单。最常见的就是卤粉和炒河粉。卤粉加的是卤肉,汤汁非常浓甜味很重。不过粉的口感顺滑Q而弹,配以鲜浓美味的酱汁和新鲜的香菜一口下去清晨的味觉就这样释放了。炒河粉就很一般了话说和我们这的差不多,就是粉细了些。价格一般和我们这的早餐一样,卤粉5R一碗,炒河粉7R一碗。分量略少,我每样来了一份才吃饱的说。 早餐过后大概十点驱车前往万宁市采购补给和晚餐,晚上露营日月湾。中途经过琼海市,话说这的博鳌禅寺很有名于是决定来看看。果然名不虚传,博鳌禅寺是一座完整的、正统的禅宗寺院。说它完整,是因为它的建筑格局包含有一座正统禅宗寺院所需要配备的一切硬件设施是迄今为止海南省唯一一座配套齐全的禅宗寺庙。说它正统,因为寺院主持大和尚是当今中国佛教协会付会长圣辉大师。其次,博鳌禅寺内“万佛观音塔”内供奉着两尊国内独有的佛像,一是全国最高大的青铜千手千眼观音双面观音菩萨像,二是佛祖故乡尼泊尔国国王亲赠的镏金释迦牟尼佛像。在寺庙里拍照是大忌,大家想看得亲自去了。 话说博鳌禅寺的挺远和景观真心漂亮,这里借用花老师的美美照大家一饱眼福好了。 话说博鳌是三江交汇的出海口,小小一方土地上同时汇聚了江、河、湖、海、山、岭、泉、岛屿等八大地理地貌,形成了由湿地、椰林、沙滩、田园、蓝天、彩云、纯氧、民和、鱼欢、鸟乐的“十方净土”。是全国唯一、世界少有的生态地理奇迹。在过去,若想鸟瞰这举世罕见的地理奇观,只有乘坐直升机。现在,只要登上博鳌地区最高的建筑博鳌禅寺里的“万佛观音塔”便可将八大景观尽收眼底。最主要是没有门票的免费景点哦~不容错过。 逛完博鳌禅寺已经是下午两点半了,为了赶时间去万宁市采购午饭干粮解决。大概下午4点半这样,我们才采购完物品来到了美丽的日月湾。到了这里才发现,原来这里并没有传说中的那么冷清。熙熙攘攘的游客,冲浪的帅哥美女,还有就是美丽的沙滩,椰树,和海水。最主要的发现还是这里有免费的露营地提供给大家不收任何管理费用,淡水是一户海边别墅的热心人家免费提供的。很给力的宿营地点! 这里是海南的免费景区不是很热门,由于游客比较少海滩异常的洁净。在这里游泳,发呆,拍照是最享受的事,想想身边在家过年的朋友还穿着厚厚的羽绒服出个门都要带伞唉~可惜的说。 日月湾,在这里你需要找个最舒服的减压方式,释放你的身体从平日的压力中解放出来。(
这是6个女人的旅行,自从2012年6个女人来了趟缅甸之旅后,心就越来越野,胆子也越来越大。一年忙碌后,到了年底,突然发现去美国的机票好便宜,就一拍即合决定去美西自驾。因为其中三人去年4月已经去美西自驾一次,所以有点犹豫,想起电影西雅图夜未眠,心血来潮就把西雅图加进去,然后又发现西雅图是去阿拉斯加的门户,于是就决定继续向北,去阿拉斯加看极光。 订票订房订车,不到两周6个女人就起程了,三个女人一台戏,六个女人出行注定是一场热闹之旅。 终于到了要出发的日子,因为6个女人,两个有2-3年驾龄,两个今年刚买车,一个有照不会开,一个连驾照都没有,所以决定只租一台车,如此一来都没开过大车,就想租个小点的商务车,这样就担心行李舱放不下6件大行李,于是出发前手忙脚乱的拼箱子,争取只带4个大箱子,于是办公室里被我们搞的一片大乱。去不成又心有不甘的男同事,不时在旁边打击着我们,比如阿拉斯加自驾冰雪路很危险之类的。但心已经飞走的女人们虽然内心不安,却都被激动的情绪冲的根本听不进去。 中午大家在楼下的餐厅聚餐吃了火锅,办公室所有人把我们送到楼下,当时嘴上都没说什么,但总感觉送行有点过于隆重,有点像十送红军的感觉,搞的好像多久回不来似的。毕竟阿拉斯加实在太遥远了,虽然去阿拉斯加看极光是我们的人生愿景,可是这么快就要实现,总觉得有那么点不真实。 机场等待出发,6个女人要拍个出发的合影,自己先拍了一张,觉得还是应该找个人拍合影,于是抓了个旁边候机的帅哥,那帅哥早已注意到这帮疯疯癫癫的女人,一看找他很高兴的过来帮忙,一副早就等着召唤的模样,拍一张还热情的说,看看行不行,不行在给你们拍,看了6个女人走到哪里都很引人注目呢。 微信发出去,立即有回复,你们去哪里?怎么还未成年人禁止入内呀。看看思想不纯洁不是,不就是没注意站到吸烟室门前了吗? 香港中转,在候机室品品咖啡吃吃蛋糕,说实话香港的点心味道真心不错。国泰航空的餐饮还是不错了,冰淇淋还是哈根达斯,早餐还有稀饭。就是十几个小时的飞行时间实在难熬。但女人适应环境的能力是很强的,看,要杯红酒把自己弄得小脸通红,准备酒后睡个好觉的,三人椅子,一头一个抱着对方的脚的,另一个哪去了?原来自我升舱到卧铺了。虽然不太雅观,但毕竟可以躺下睡会了。微信发出又是一片喧哗,这方法不错呀,下次我们也这样之类的。不过这个也只能是我们了,几个女人可以,如果换成大男人这样,呵呵,不太可能吧。为什么?你懂得。抵达洛杉矶是晚上8点多,一夜休息,精神抖擞。天气很好,根本没有中央电视台说的什么,美国到处遭遇暴风雪,走之前搞的家人担心我们,我们自己也担心很冷,带的全部是厚衣服,前半程西部自驾,都没带多少薄衣服,热的够呛。酒店门前阳光灿烂,等着免费班车送我们去租车处提车。 我们租车为了讨便宜找了个特价车,果然是便宜没好货,美国也有钓鱼,先拿便宜价钓来客人,然后再以升级车辆,推销保险等待手段加收费用。结果所以的推销备我们拒绝,那家伙很是不高兴。事实证明那台车果然不好,尤其是刹车肉的要命,在高速上踩三脚刹车,还是往前滑吓死人。就这么台车却是我们开的最长,天数最多的,而且后来发现我们认为小点的车好开,纯属误区,后来租的三台车都更大,但却比这台好开的多。 最最郁闷的是行李箱小,6个女人想尽办法,几度调整,最终行李箱里只放进三个大箱子,还有一大一小只能放在后排的车座上。 由于大部分人都到过洛杉矶,环球影城和迪斯尼也都去过了,白天也没有什么特别的活动,因为晚上要看NBA的比赛,所以只能在洛杉矶市内转转,先去圣塔莫妮卡海滩。这个海滩是洛杉矶最热闹的海滩,夏天会有很多人在这里晒太阳,游泳冲浪。但现在已经是12月了,海滩上没有几个人。 其实对于我们来说,这个海滩的风景实在是没什么,但女人就是这样的感性动物,不管什么环境都能自娱自乐。 这也太能自得其乐,就这么个管理员的小木屋都能让我们臭美半天虽然已经12月,洛杉矶依然很暖和,当天气温近30度,戏水完全没有问; 海滩上有很多海鸥,牠们丝毫不怕人其实到圣塔莫妮卡海滩最重要的原因就是这里,66号公路的终点。66号公路是美国的母亲之路。在19世纪时是一条跑马车的路,1927年美国政府投资修路,断断续续修路十几年,终于修成了这条贯穿美国东西海岸的公路,东起芝加哥西止于洛杉矶的圣塔莫妮卡,全长近4000公路。当时正值美国30年代经济大萧条时期,公路的修建为大批劳工提供了工作的机会,其后也为美国西部的开发起到了至关重要的作用。对于我们来说,最熟悉的就是阿甘在66号公路奔跑的镜头。、超大冰淇淋 洛杉矶除了迪斯尼乐园和环球影城,还有个盖蒂中心。这是用石油大亨保罗盖蒂的遗产建成的一个现代化的艺术中心,前后花费十多年才算建成。艺术馆本身不收费用,只是需要付15美金的停车费。从地下停车场直接坐电梯上到楼上,这里有个小小的电车站,坐上免费的电车,蜿蜒到山顶,就看到白色的建筑,那就是艺术中心了。里面收藏品都是盖蒂生前的收藏品,其中很多价值连城的艺术品,最为著名的就是梵高的鸢尾花,莫奈的草垛和美女。这么贵重的画居然没有玻璃保护,也没有隔离栏杆,可以近距离观赏。不过这么价值连城的艺术品,对于我们这几个不懂艺术的人,真是极大的浪费。 里面很多画和圣经以及文艺复兴有关,不懂圣经和欧洲历史完全搞不明白画的是什么,于是两个女伴开始对着画斜批三国,我在后面听得捧腹而不敢大笑,怕影响到别人,如果作者听到她们的解说怕是气的要从棺材里面爬出来,真是暴虐天珍啊。 ([]

There are many like-minded asking me about it. I now present this thread to briefly tell everybody about my journey.The starting point of this traverse was from the highest peak of the western part of the Tibetan plateau, Jieshan Daban, and the day was April 20, 2010.I was heading eastward passing Bungdag Co, Yanghu Co, Rola Co, and Kangzhagri Mountain, which crossed over the desolate region from west to east. The journey continued northward to enter the unpopulated area of Altun Mountains, through Hoh Xil Mountains, Kunlun Mountains, Whale lake, ..., finally met some people by the Aqqikkol Hu and then arrived in Huatugou by vehicle three days later and that day was July 5. It had been 77 days in total. I had been all alone 74 days after leaving Jieshan Daban until arriving inAqqikkol Hu, which was about 1400km and about four months.[The Great Chang Tang] In Tibetan, "Chang Tang" means northern empty wilderness while narrowly, means unpopulated region in northern part of Tibet. However, it actually indiCATes all of the no man's land in northern. The great Chang Tang includes desolate places in Northern Tibet, Hoh Xil, Alun Mountains, and Kunlun Mountains, which are interconnected to form the unique and super empty wilderness in the world. Only because Hoh Xil is the most known name, most people just think this vast land is equivalent to Hoh Xil. In reality, Hoh Xil is only a small piece of the Great Chang Tang both administratively and geologically. The Great Chang Tang, the last land to chase your freedom and dream.The route that I traversed ForeplayI arrived in Tibet in the early March, a couple of troubles bothered me. The brand new plug got its positive and negative wrongly connected; the rivets of my rucksack eASIly got broken from now and again; and a multi-functional charger got damaged and so on. Riding my bike to Ngari for warming up of this journey, lost my rucksack but later got it back; lost my camera bag and got it back later again, and finally lost a big bicycle pannier in the street of Gyangze town under the eyes of police, including clothes, solar panel and so on.Without much choice, I returned to Lhasa to adjust all the stuff I would need in the wilderness. Then I begged some luck by going to Nyingchi to enjoy the blossoms of peach trees and to take a hot spring bath. I even had the privilege to enjoy time with ten girls in the hot spring. I felt my bad luck had all gone and then returned to Lhasa again to prepare going to Ngari. I did not expect that I was cheated on by some hustler and lost some money and delayed my schedule for a week. I had to find a car myself quickly to Nagri. However, I lost the tool for fast-parting my rear wheel on my way to Nagri, where was a remote area in Tibet and nowhere to buy the tool. Even if there was one in Lhasa it would take at least ten days for a special delivery service. I was lucky that my mate Duola asked a driver to bring the tool for me from Lhasa. I thought there should be no more nightmare like this but the nozzle of my brand new multi-fuel stove was broken. The next day I tried everywhere to weld them back together. The first three shops could not do the welding for copper. The fourth one said they could do it but could not guarantee a sUCCess. The engineer said it would be ten Chinese yuans if it was a success. I agreed. Just in seconds, my nozzle became crap in a flash of lightening. I was so upset. Again, Duola helped me by bringing her own MSR oil stove and Dingding's sleeping bag to Nagri. That was already April 16 and I did not have much time to waste. It was still night and extremely cold and dark. Driver was not bothered to pop his head out of the driving cab. I climbed up on the top of the iron wastes, taking my bicycle down. In a hurry, I punched my old water bag. Fortunately I had another MSR water bag given by a friend of mine otherwise I would definitely fail without even starting my journey. For the first time for me to set up the brand new tent in strong, cold winds. It would be impossible to do so if the tent was not a whole piece. Extremely cold outside, about -15C, might be lower than that, I put my head into the sleeping bag but was nearly suffocated to death, honestly. The smell of Dingding's sleeping bag was, lol, so extraordinary. I woke up around 11 o'clock. There were still strong winds outside so that I had to use my bodyweight to keep the tent in place. At the time when I just started to cook and eat, four patrolling soldiers approached me. To their surprise someone, in this season, camped in Jieshan Daban. I was so nervous and afraid they were the people to block my journey because I was caught and deported from the desolate land last year. Luckily the four soldiers did not know my destination and were very kind to me. After they left, I immediately packed my stuff and pushed my bike into the depths of the unpopulated area just in case anything unexpected happened.The bike was very heavy due to the provisions and hard to control. There was even a quite small hill that I had to remove my bike panniers to get over it. This really struck me because this happened even the path was still the hardship one at the moment and I could not imagine what I would do once I entered the uncertain, endless wilderness. Until now I had not met anyone, even the nomadic pastoralists. I remembered there were quite a few of them roaming at the edge of the northern Tibetan plateau last year. All of these indicated it was not the good pasture season in such low temperature and strong winds. Around 16km there was a sheep cote, where I passed it last year, east of Lungmu Co. I was exhausted at this point so that I decided to camp in here and to rest my head. After arranging tent everything I went out to look for the wetland discovered by Duola and Liumeng last year. I was determined to find it.There were many hot springs in the wetland which were underground water with a constant temperature. The wetland therefore became an ideal habitat for some fishes and weeds under such harsh weather, which was the very unique land feature of terrain in this over 5200m highland.Perpetual snow in the valley blown to corn shape by strong windsThis wetland was discovered by Duola and Liumeng. The next day rather than continuing to travel, I stayed inside the sheep cote, hesitating and pondering over. Indeed, there were so many problems before this journey;I did not have sufficient physical preparation;the load had already reached its limitation; I still coughed a lot;the weather was so extreme and cold. All in all, I did not think this journey was well prepared and I did not have confidence in completing this journey mentally and physically. To do, or not to do, it was the question. Similarly I did not have confidence in my facilities, not knowing whether all of them would work functionally or not. The fact was one of the rivets got broken again and the front rack came loose. In the afternoon, I replaced all the rivets of the panniers with screws I had prepared before. This was an excellent job I had done which gave me no further troubles throughout my whole journey. I also re-adjusted the front rack. However I did not think it would definitely all right because I did not have a tool to do it. When the darkness descended,I made up my mind to continue my journey, which, of course, was not beyond any imagination. You could hear the gigantic sound of wind if the picture had a sound Day 3 (April 22), 52.4km, Camping 5145mGot up in the morning, could not put everything into the bags. Without much choice I had to throw away three portions of tsampa, elbow pads, and crampons. Following the road of the lead-zinicmine I found the side path to enter the wilderness, which was on the riverbed and very hard to see. I missed this side path last year so that I had to take a short cut into the wilderness directly then. That was why I had taken extra care to find the side path. The following journey was to get over a big hill, which lay 5275m above sea level and was the highest point of my whole journey. Around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, I passed the side path leading to Orba Co and started a journey which was complete strange to me. I ate a piece of pilot breads, which was frozen like rocks so that I had to use my spade to crush it. At 6 o'clock in the evening, I had pushed plus rode my bicycle for about 32 km. I reckoned I should have been able to double this if I did no carry such heavy load. The wind became stronger and stronger. I opened the parasail kits and tested it. The result was far beyond what I expected. With the aid of the strong wind I was just like flying over the wilderness. After 8 o'clock in the evening, I started to observe the water Source and to get ready to camp. Map showed there were successive springs along the path and assembled to puddles. But I had overestimated the water source here in this land and in this season there were endless wilderness inside the valley, where I could not see a single drop of water. As it became darker and darker, I felt a little bit nervous which resulted in three spokes of the parasail broken and became a useless rubbish. Anyway, it helped me to move forward 20km more which benefited me a lot later on. When time approached 9.30 pm, it was almost completely dark. I had to lie my bike on the ground and went on to try to find water on the north side of the valley. This was a wide and flat sandy land, where I could not see any ditches there and further was complete darkness. I returned to get my GPS to look up the contours and found the south part of the valley was closer to a hill so I took the way. Finally I found a piece of ice in a ditch. I smashed about 20litre of ice. The ice was quite shallow scattered with sheep poo. On my way back, my eyes were hurt by strong winds, which got me a couple of days to recover. It was nearly 23 o'clock after I set up the tent. It also took about 40 mins to melt the ice. I was so tired and my appetite was completely spoiled. I then had a little bit of milk. I had never expected thing would go like this, it was so distressing. Streams along the path, ice everywhereThe river flew into Matou Hu, in whose north part there was a satellite lake, a wonderful ice-skating court It took 40mins to melt the ice in midnight Day 4 (April 23), 31km, Camping 5028mA cloudy day with gusts. From now and again, hails chased me from behind. Sunny spell. Heavy sandy land made me have to push my bike. At 3pm, I arrived at Luxing Hu, where there was a house made of clay. This was the last permanent building of my journey. Last year, Duola and Liumeng once lived in this house for three days without meeting anybody. It seemed it was the same but the truck parking in front of the house made me worry about. I went to the sheep cote first to check over, where there were only a few lambs following me everywhere I went later on. This made me feel warm in my heart. I observed farther places using my binoculars but could not see any people or sheeps. After making sure there were no people around I opened the locked door using a screwdriver. The living room was very clean. There were two boxes of beverages on the ground and a string of cured lamb legs hanging over in the interior room. A pot of water was on the top of the stove, lukewarm, which indicated the host must be not far away from his home. I filled up my water bag and left the house. I also put the screws back to the door in order not to leave any trace of my visiting. I then took a spanner from the toolbox of the truck, which gave me great help for the rest of the journey.I left the house as quickly as possible. After last year's experience, the nomadic pastoralists were the last people I wanted to meet. A few hundred meters away from the house, the vehicle traces were fading fast. Even downhill, I had to push rather than to ride because of the heavy loose sand. From the route point of view, only after Luxing Hu it was the real unpopulated land. After many days, I thought of the lamb legs from time to time. It was pity that I then had plenty of provisions and the bike was too heavy to carry anything more. Probably this road was the high plain or somewhere the wind passed so that it was so windy. The average wind speed was degree 6 but could reach degree 9 in the blick of an eye. The road was still full of sand and very heavy to walk on it. My eyes became worse under such harsh weather. About three o'clock in the afternoon, I saw something in my right, looked like antenna. I went closer to see what it was and found out it was an iron tower (the triangulation station). In 1970s, a joint team from Chinese three military regiments entered this area doing research. They have left a lot of triangulation stations and benchmarks, which I had the priviledge to see them today.At dusk, I approached to a spring by the Bungdag Co, which flew into the frozon lake. The sand and soil, brought by the strong wind, scattered on the surface of the ice all over the lake. There were so many cracks around the icey surface of the lake. I geussed it must be caused by the springs under the water rather than by melted ice. In the west of the Bungdag Co was the side path leading to Keriya Pass, where a SUV could reach directly. I had looked out any vehicle Tracks but failed. The cloudy sky started to snow. Spongy volcanic rocks could be found easily. I pushed my bike turning around a small hill, seeing a big river, the Yinshui He, flowing from Orba Co into Bungdag Co, which I had been to its upstream last year. It was also a passage for animal migration. The downstream of the river was extremely wide and broad. The thickess of the ice layer could reach one meter with the main stem in the middle course of the river, very deep. There were a few springs along the river, sweet and clear.I only went forward a little bit more than 4km but I had walked more than 20km for finding my way. It was not possible to cross the main stem, let alone the north bank of Bungdad Co. What I could only do was to try to find a shallow place to cross. But the southern area was a even larger piece of wetland and forced the road turn towards west. I spent a couple of hours but failed to find a good point to cross the river. In the afternoon, I decided to follow the edge of the wetland. When I reached the hill foot, the wetland finally disappeared. Around this area, there were clearly volcanic feature of terrain and I even found traces of pasturing and cairns made from volcanic rock.Here was the last pasturing trace I found throughout my journey, I guessed it was a summer pasture area. After this, there was no clear sign of human activities in this vast wilderness. I had been looking for my ways until it was dark. I made up my mind where to go TOMOrrow. The terrain here looked like Yardang landforms, as well as volcanic landforms The Yinshui He river from Orba CoSprings scattered all over the river bank, painted green by lovely algaeThe river was very deep. At 2pm, I was blocked by the zigzag Yinshui He again and I had no choice but to cross it. The river was about 700m wide, covered by ice which appeared very different. The hanging ice, the folding ice, the piling-up ice, the icy puddle, and the sleet were everywhere along the river bank. Having noticed all of these, I reckoned the river would be receding at dusk, which was why there were so many different shapes and forms of ice. I put my slipper on, going into the main stream of the river. I found there were at least three different courses of the river, the thickness of the surface ice varied and the river water reached above my knees. I sighed there would be no way back once I crossed this river. There are many ways in one's life too, you can only take it once and you will no long have the courage to repeat it.I pushed the bike crossing the river. Some of the ice was a bit soft, jamming the tyres so that I had to use my feet to break them first. Some of the ice was a bit thick but with half-melted underneath, sticking the the bike completely, some of the ice was half-water half-ice with a sandy riverbed, which was really hard to pass. I had to remove all of the panniers at the last stage of the crossing. I spent the whole four hours to cross the river, my legs got many bloody cuts. At 6pm, the surface ice was almost disappeared completely, the river level rapidly rising to a chaotic status. I thought if I hesitated a little bit at that time, I could not have the courage to cross this river under such circumstances. The river bank was unimaginably sandy and was quite steep. I had to unloaded the panniers again to reach the top of the bank. By the time of sunset, the weather became exceptionally good. The sunlight from the descending sun, the blue sky, the faint moon, .... Since then I used GPS to check the mileage. The digital thermometer was no longer working. I had to use mercury thermometer to collect data. Night temperatures were basically between –15℃—–20℃ while the temperature inside my tent was about –10℃. The advantage of the integrated tent was that it limited the ventilation so to keep warm inside. However, it got clearly disadvantage of heavy condensation and dew. Every morning, there was plenty of frost inside the tent so that I had to put my hood on First Before fully getting dressed. The winds in Chang Tang finally became consistent with the pattern I had researched the other day no or very tiny wind in the morning, strong wind started after 2pm, and then at around 8pm its strength was reduced again. The accuracy of this prediction was about 80%.The road was very bad today. I walked whole afternoon in an ancient riverbed and it was so difficult that I had to use all of my strengths to move a small step forward and then to stop to breath, slower than a snail. After five hours' struggling, my eyes got wet when I saw the grassy river bank. Finally! The nightmare was over.Cold and clear morningHeavy morning condensation in the interior, a lot of frost to clearSuch dawning sunlight indicated a cloudy day ahead Day 9 (April 28), 18km, 5072mIn the morning I entered a range of sandy roads which were so terrible. The solar panel specially designed for GPS got short circuited. After checking it was found to be the diode got damaged. Luckily I got a replacement. Because the GPS was exclusively supplied by a solar panel so that it was no longer a problem for the power supplement of GPS. In a period of 70 days, I did replace the battery once, which saved me a lot of alkaline batteries. I did have another solar panel of 5.4 W which was used specifically for 7.5V Camera, DV and other digital facilities. Unlike water, I had never been short of power.At 7pm in the evening, I arrived at Pur Co. The surface of this lake was very odd the ice by the river bank rose and the river bank was broken, I reckoned that was due to the strong winds. The ice there was mingled with something yellow, could be the stain of alkali. There were many wild yaks on the other side of the lake. There could be two brown bears but I could not be for certain. On the east side of the lake, there was a peninsula leading to the centre of the lake. I camped just opposite to the peninsula. At night , I smashed the ice to get drinking water, which tasted alkali. For the first time I cooked the cereals, which was brought completely by accident. This was just because I found there was a little bit of extra space when I was in Nagri packing the stuff for this journey so that I bought two packs of cereals. It tasted disgusting, probably there was too much alkali in the water. I threw away half of it. Later I realised that probably I subconsciously felt that the provisions was so heavy. The wild yaks clustered into small groups. All of a sudden, there was a group of five of them running towards me, blowing a huge cloud of dust with the power of thunderbolts,I believed that anyone who did not know the characters of the wild yaks must be frightened to death under such circumstances. The fact was the wild yaks in groups never injured people. Rushing to you just to show you its territory. When they approached people at certain distance, they would turn sharply and run away, and then stopped somewhere high to stare at you. You can not imagine that the wild yaks were very cautious animals compared with its almost one ton of weight. Their first reaction, when meeting people, was to raise their tails, the front hooves rubbing against the ground, the horns pointing forward, the eyes redden, and the long body hair shaking, all of which showed their determination to fight.This was the warning sign that you should retreat. However, you should realise that this was only a gesture that they were afraid of you and wanted to scare you away. The thing was that if you were not afraid of them and moved forward, they would run away in no time. There were only some mad yaks attacking people, which was really rare to happen. In Chang Tang, an experienced driver know that it is very dangerous to pass directly from two or three lonely wild yaks. They always tried to avoid confronting them directly. If this was not possible, they would lit a cigarette, smoking, to wait until the yaks walked away themselves. This was because the wild yaks really could attack vehicles, which was not completely rumors. I once asked them why I had not been attacked. They told me that because my bike was so small they would not be bothered to attack it. My own experience was that approaching a wild yak very slowly, do not look into its eyes, and ignored what it was doing. As long as it moved forward a little bit, just stop and give the yaks a little bit of time to think. Because if you forced the yak, it could be themost dangerous animal in the world and nothing could stop them killing. Even a gunshot could not kill it but only left a small hole in its skin. In the past, the nomads living near this land would use yaks' skin as chopping board which was very much endurable. At noon, I lost my balacLAVA, which was brand new and I had never used it once. I could not be bothered to go back tofind it. This resulted in that I had to have my fleece hat day and night in the rest of my journey, which did not provide fully protection from the sun in the plateau. But somehow I was all right, perhaps because my skin is similar to those of yaks, lol. At around half past one, I found a deserted Jeep, upside down. I felt it could be there for years and it could be the vehicle of someillegal HUNTERs. Nowadays, we have wildlife conservation reserves in Chang Tang and the animals here are well protected. However, some people kills the wild yaks to sell them as the domestic yak's meat. In general, it is worth 10,000 Chinese yuans for a single wild yak. Therefore many people take the risk to make money. They often enter the unpopulated areas to hunt and their activities can reach 200 km in diameter. This is why the wild yaks in the deep wilderness are less afraid of people than thoseat the boundaries of the Chang Tang region.There once happened that a wild yak mother revenged its baby's murder in the Altun mountains. Its horns pierced the killer's chest and held his body over its head for more than ten days, which was very touching.Around 3pm, I walked out of the Pur basin. The next point was Hong Shan Daban and then it was the Yueya Hu by the Toze Gangri. At this time I found a vehicle track from south to north. I checked over but could not find the way where they had gone. I took my map, GPS, and compass, climbing up a small hill to estimate the location of Hong Shan Daban. The mountain was very round and it was hard to find the mountain pass. After determining the location of the Daban, I moved straightforward. When I passed a messy grassland, I saw something that I was reluctant to see more than hundreds of wild yaks' head scattered all over, which was definitely the scene of the illegal hunting. After that it was a very long ancient river bed with soft sand slowly rising until the foot of the mountain.There are some spines on the surface of the tongues of wild yaks, which are used by nomads in this area as combs. They use them from their teens to the time when their hair becomes silver.The deserted Jeep, could be left by illegal hunters years agoThe slaughtered wild yaks with the wheel size heads. Some of the skulls were chopped into half. Why was that? Could be taken away for making combs?My camp at the foot of the Daban underthe lingering golden rays of the setting sun. Tomorrow's weather must be wonderful, I reckoned Day 11(April 30), 20.4km, Camping 5120mThe surface of the road leading to Hong Shan Daban was very hard, most of them were small rocks, sort of gravels, plus a quite long downhill slope, I pushed my bike more than 20km for the first time after Luxing Hu. The mountain pass was quite flat, just like a broad ridge, it was 5256m above the sea level. Upon arriving at the pass, Toze Gangri of 6356m was in my sight clearly, very much round and there was no back bone like normal snow covered mountains. Most of the snow mountains in Chang Tang looked like this probably it was due to the geological movements. There were quite a few chirus or Tibetan antelopes in the valley but I was not interested in this kind of animals anymore after I witnessed a large scale of migration of such animals last year elsewhere.The herbivorous animals here are very quick to reach its original size of the population, such as wild yaks, chirus, Tibetan gazelle, pika, and marmot. When you go into the depths of the Chang Tang, you could hardly be surpised by the sudden appearance of the chirus because they are so common in here. At this time of year, the chirus have already male-female parted. You could see many pregnant female chirus but hardly see any males. According to recent research, Zonag Co is not the only lake for breeding. There are at least four of them in the whole Chang Tang. Zonag Co, Tuzi Hu, Heishi Beihu, and another lake I can not remember. I think there must be more than four of them and most of the populations do not migrant long way like most people used to think. They generally migrant from south to north between Central Mountains and Kunlun Mountains.The chirus looks very timid but are very curious about outside world. They are not really afraid of people, particularly in the depth of the Chang Tang. The nearest distance we can approach is about 30m. They just stare at you calmly and think who you are and why you move so slow. They would run in front of you. Look like they are afraid of you but the fact is they are playing with you. A man's own character shapes his fortune. This is of course suit for animals too. The chirus are the typical one. They have a super speed and a pair of sharp antlers. If they are crazy, three of them work together could easily kill a wolf. But as you might have known, their antlers are just for fighting to mate with females.Down the Daban there was a very steep and straight road, I tried to ride the bicycle but ended up with falling over. The front rack came loose and one of the pannier flew into valley. The foot of the mountain was the Yueya Hu covered by ice, which was alake full of heavy metal elements. Along the lake bank there were many stark rocks very much weathered, lining up just like castles or houses. This made me stop to investigate what they were from time to time, I did understand they were just rocks though but they were so real like the figures of real people. On of them even made me hide in a ditch, observing them again and again using my binoculars. There were also many black volcanic rocks. All in all, the features of this area were really unusual.Passed over the Yueya Hu, it was an endless ancient lake bed. What my GPS showed was this area was a big lake like tentacles. I looked around, it was endless wilderness without a piece of ice and a drop of water. Roughly, I estimated this lake bed was about 1200 square meters. I had to tell you that Chang Tang was a place where there was no high-resolution map. The marks in the map often were some kind of memory. Just like this ancient lake bed under my feet, may be it was full of water a few years ago. Who knows. Pushing the bike in such an endless lake bed was very easy to get lost. About wildlife (part 1)Declaration Personal experience for reference onlyDangerous wild animals and their threats to human beings are a ever-LASTING subject for those backpackers travelling in the wild.In Chang Tang, for example, there are two kinds of deadly animals, one is wolves and the other is brawn bears. As substitutes, wild yaks and crows might be dangerous to you in some circumstances that I will come back to this a little bit later on. As for how to protect yourself against these dangerous animals, I think the primary point is you do not try to hurt them because the emotions of human and animals are same instinctively. [Wolves]Throughout my journey, I met wolves a total of seven times, in which I confronted them five times. As you might have known that wolves have become more and more solitary animals, it is very rare they live in a large group nowadays. Please allow me off the point a little bit and talk about the ecological problems in Chang Tang. The problem is now not the decrease of the number of the chirus but the imbalance of the whole food chain, more specifically, the number of the animals on the higher trophic levels of the food chain has not yet reached its ideal level which results in this kind of imbalance. Particularly, the pikas and the marmots who have lost their predators rapidly expanse which results in the desertification of Chang Tang. As early as the middle of last century, wolves were the dominant predators in the vast wilderness. They became a threat not only to other preys but also nomads pasturing in this land. Therefore, the then government called on people to cull back the population of the wolves in Chang Tang, which resulted in the current situation directly. The last official record about wolves attacking humans was around 1970s, which happened in Bamaoqiongzong. A team of secientists was surrounded by a group of wolves and they had to shoot them using guns. Of course, at present in Chang Tang, wolves are absolutely lonely.In this traverse, the first time I encountered a pair of wolves, one of them staying in front of me pretending to attack me while the other staying behind me. This is the standard attacking strategy of wolves. First, you should not be nervous which can be easily detected by the predators. Second, you should not retreat even an inch because this means you are the prey rather than the predator. Do not make any large movement, of course you could take a picture if you feel safe to do so. You must look into its eyes for a few minutes or even half an hour. When the wolves can not work out who you are and consider you are not posing any danger to them, then they will leave. You should remember that wolves in this land do not lack of food and it is much easy for them to catch a pika than a human. Even if being hungry, they would evaluate how easy to get you done, What you need to do is to show them that you are not interested in them and you are not afraid of them at all, let alone to show your ID card to them. As for the wolves family, really, I have not heard for ages. If you really have an encounter with them and they have no other choice, then it definitely depends on your forture. In fact, for so many year, it has been very rare to happen that wolves kill human. Every year there are some accidents happened in some regions of Xinjiang on the north side of Kunkun Mountains and steppes in Northern Tibet. More than that the bears could attack your house, smash your windows, and eat your sheep. Therefore, in Northern Tibet some local councils give subsidies to the pastorarists for compensating the losses due to the bears because they are not allow to fight back and kill the bears except their lives are in great danger. Once there was a nomad taught me a method to protect yourself from bears. He told me to pick up a stick to feed the bear and the bear thinks the stick is your hand which tastes disgusting. So the bear would leave. It was so funny but the reality is to find a stick in this vast wilderness is just like you win the lottery.Bears are omonivorous animal who are generally not interested in human flesh. You can find that in most of accidents, the bears did not eat any of the human flesh rather they just smashed them for kind of fun that we could not understand. For the reason why bears kill human, one explanation is the conflict between human and wildlife in this extreme ecological environment. The nomads invade the habitats of the bears, which results in these conflicts. On the other hand, it might be because bears have quite high IQ so that they think it is much easy to kill a sheep in the cote rather than to kill a pika in the wild.I have met bears five times in my traverse, in two cases we were very close to each other. I had even walked with one of them for quite a while, just like we had a date for a walk. The fact is it is not that terrible like you might imagine. The same rules for dealing with wolves apply to bears. Never provoke dangerous animals. A bear can run at a speed of 40km/h, do you think you can compete this in a highland 5,000m above sea level?However, there is a situation where it is really dangerous, that is the encounter. They are scavengers but like fresh meat too. It once happened that a baby was killed by crows relentlessly, let alone the lambs got killed by them. Once a nomad asked me for fireworks to scare the crows away. (They are sacred birds not to be killed by human)It is easy to defend yourself against crows, that is to keep fighting, never fall in the wilderness.A short break attracted the crows. Of course, they were miscalculating this time, photo taken last year[Strategies Adopted]At the time when I met the four soldiers in Jieshan Daban, they said there were many dangerous animals in the Northern Tibet and asked me if I had brought a shotgun. I think if they knew that I would enter Chang Tang they would definitely check if I really have a shotgun. The so-called defence facilities I brought with me were the fireworks and pepper spray. I had never used them. The fireworks were ruined and thrown away when I crossed a river and I had never opened the pepper spray. I even had never thought about this when camping in the night. The reason was I did not feel the needs. During the day time whenever I met any animals I had never touched the knife I had brought. I did not have anything to defend myself when I walked out to investigate the route. The Chang Tang is really a vast area so as to be very easy to detect anything strange.By the way, you'd better to avoid mating season's animals because even tamed rabbits could be aggressive in mating season.The thing is even if you have a gun, it is not very much helpful when bears attack you. Therefore, your attitude is most important.I can tell you something. Dogs are more dangerous than these wild animals. I had been chased by Tibetan dogs, pounced on by dogs in mating season, also besieged by a group of dogs. I really feel it is more useful to know how to defend a dog.Declaration again The above experience is from Chang Tang only. Of course, the more you prepared, the better. Day 12 (May 1), 23.8km, Camping 5117mToday was May 1 -- the Labour Day, I had been walking in some lake area marked in the map but clearly dried up. The lake basin was flat and hard so that I even pushed my bike more than 20km. Let it be the special treat for my May Day. After midday it became cloudy with growing winds. Since the Yueya Hu that I passed yesterday, there were no big lakes until Yanghu Co (My route would be between Jianshui Hu and Bairab Co), there was even no light alkaline water to drink so I had to pay extra attention not to miss any possible drinking water supply to fill up my water bag. There were a few very small lakes but all were alkaline puddles which was very shallow, whose depth was no more than the length of a half-finger. These puddles were covered with a hard shell of the mixture of salt and ice which smelled stinking and decaying when getting closer, must be toxic water I supposed. On the shore of this type of small lakes it was muddy soil and very hard to get closer.There was no sign of tundra at all.It was almost half past six when I found some snow corns in a ditch, which was the only drinking water supply of the day. There was a thin layer of melted ice on the surface of the ground near the snow corn, which was very hard to collect and was contaminated by the alkali. The snow corn was the yet melted thick snow, which was shaped like a corn by wind. The snow was quite hard and dry,porous like ice. I crushed a few snow corns, putting them into the water bag.They would be my drinking water tonight. These snow corns were the only one in today's wilderness, I reckoned the reason why they were not melted like others was the soil underneath contained large amount of ice blocks which acted as a freezer.Very strong gale in the night, it was hard to bear the sound of the vibration of the tent. Small single tent was good in the sense that it would not be blown away as long as you stayed inside. But you had to be very careful to set up the tent. I once did not pay much attention when doing so, the tent was blown away by winds, and rolling over like a Giant lantern ... I ran after it, got it back, and was exhausted. In general, it is not possible to fix the tent completely using tent pegs because they were not very much effective like large tents. It was snowing around 23 o'clock, the winds were howling from north,then the falling snow flakes landed on my tent quietly, I finally felt at peace and fell asleep. The flat ancient lake basin, assisting me walking more than 20kmSmall lake en route, toxic waterSnow corns, the only drinking water supply today Day 13 (May 2), 0km, Camping 5117mWaking up in the morning and opening the tent, the heavy snow outside must be sent by the God to force me have a break for the May Day. After lying in for a while, getting up and walking on the snowy ground out I went to have a look around. As first sight there were a herd of chirus. They were plainly to be spotted because they looked like a clear black straight line in the while snow. I returned to get my camera and then followed them to take some pictures. But they were very much alert and kept a quite long distance from me. I felt they were a group of pregnant females, instinctively protecting themselves from any potential harm. I was no longer short of water, the snow gave me a precious supply of drinking water. The problem was that they were very petrol consuming. I tool 8.6 litre of petrol and the oil stove was Duola's MSR. The pot was of 1.5 litre, mainly for boiling water. After several days' experiments, I found that the liquid water needed 16mins and 14-15mins to boil in the morning and evening, respectively. For ice, it would take 35-40mins while for snow it took 45-50mins. Melting snow was a very time and petrol consuming process so if I had a choice between snow and light alkaline water, most of time I would go with the latter. Lying inside the tent, listening to musics,I smoked a cigarette while gazing at the more and more chirus around me. Because it was very cold I had been wearing my shoes all the time. Now I just put my bare feet under the warm sun for some fresh air. I found three cuts in my hands and one in my sole. The cuts were about 4cm in length, looked terrible but it was actually all right really. Half of my toes were injured by to much walking, quite painful. I fetched my medicine bag and found I only got four patches of plasters, a serious mistake. One of the cuts in my hand had never been cured until I was out of this desolate land so as to feel like this finger would drop from my hand at any time. The others quickly recovered in a few days then new cuts appeared elsewhere. This process occurred periodically. I felt that it was somewhat related to the cold, dry weather and the lack of vitamins. The snow rapidly disappeared, which is unique phenomenon in Chang Tang. Because of the low air humidity and the high radiation from the sun, the snow was evaporating very fast, much quicker than the melting speed. Owing to this, the ground was generally still dry after the snow disappeared. In most cases, it would be only 2/5 left in the afternoon around 2 to 3 o'clock and small patches of ground could be seen. It would be completely all right for walking the next day. On the third day there could be some snow left in somewhere the sunlight hard to reach. So generally it could give you three days of water supply after a heavy snow like this. One of the pannier was broken, the most expensive one from deuter series, supposed to be waterproof. I will come back to it at some point later.
